Lost's Michael

According to stationzer0.com, Harold Perrineau recently talked about the possibility of reprising his role as Michael on Lost:

“It was interesting that they were going to let this character go off and be a part of the real world, and i thought that was going to be a cool way to connect the two sides back, I really hope we get to finish it, rather then have him sail away”

If the quote can be verified, this is some good news considering the recent talk of Harold Perrineau being cast in another series. I know a lot of us want to know what happened to Michael and Walt so let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that things go the way the writers want.

Michelle Rodriguez tells her version of the story

When actress Michelle Rodriguez who played the now dead Ana-Lucia during Season 2 left the show, there were many rumors that her departure was caused by her then recent alcohol related run-ins with the law.

Michelle has now decided to tell her version of the story, and if what she is writing is true, I feel pretty sorry for her:

I was at the mall when I checked my messages and found that I was invited to watch Eve’s episode at her home. I had bin working on the show for about 6 to 7 months and hadn’t really had many moments to get to know some of the cast because some of us barely worked together, so I thought this would be a good opportunity. Being that I was going to spend christmas and new years off the island i thought ‘why not buy a nice bottle of champaign and chocolates’. So I did and I left the mall and made my way to Eve’s house…

I get there we watch the episode, eat some food, drink some champaign, talk about our holiday plans, and I decide to go because I’ve got an hour drive home to the north shore where I lived. Eve tells me I’ve had a drink and should probably stay over if it’s getting late. I thought to myself: well what if I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and I pee too loud, or what if I snore, sleep walk, or talk in my sleep.” I didn’t feel like I knew her well enough to embarrass myself in her home, let alone sleep over. My first inclination was Hotel. Then my friend and fellow cast member whom I had bin working with every day says: ” stay over my house I’m five minutes from here.” I thought to myself, I feel comfortable around her, she wouldn’t be surprised by anything I do… So I decided, five minutes away, at 15 miles an hour, never killed a pot head… So my dumb ass followed her home. I guess a drink or two can make you reason like a teenager or an insecure dork.

We get stopped driving like 15 miles an hour down a 35 to 40 mph road. I cry, this sucks ass, I get over it take pictures with some cops at precinct on their camera phone, take a breathalyzer and go home a couple of hours later. I hire some lawyer from hawaii, loose my 28 acres of land and my home in jersey paying him off, just so I can get the same treatment I would have gotten from a public defender. I realized my payday in movies was way better than T.V. at that moment….

Lost creator to direct The Dark Tower

According to IGN, Lost co-creator JJ Abrams is going to direct a TV or Movie version of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower”:

Sources advised us that an official announcement is forthcoming. We have been unable to determine whether Dark Tower will be a film project or a TV miniseries, although the latter is a more likely prospect given the complex nature of King’s seven-book series. Given Abrams’ success on the small screen — and King’s well known love for the Abrams-produced TV series Lost — the tube seems a better fit for The Dark Tower. That said, IGN now has reason to believe the project will be for the big-screen.

They are also writing that recent rumors point to that JJ is only going to produce the upcoming Star Trek XI movie which he was previously rumored to be directing.

As we’ve previously reported, both JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are fans of Stephen King’s work, and the horror writer himself is supposedly a big Lost fan so any future collaborations between the writers should be really interesting!

Thanks to Bill for the tip!

Perrineau joins CBS pilot

Michael on Lost

Harold Perrineau who plays Michael on Lost has been cast in the CBS pilot “Demons” according to various sources.

The project, from CBS Paramount Network TV, centers on Gus, an ex-Jesuit priest-psychologist who performs exorcisms. Perrineau will play a priest who has known Gus since seminary and is his confessor, confidante and good friend.

Meanwhile, Lost executive-producer Carlton Cuse said this in a recent interview:

We put a pin in the Michael and Walt story for the season, but by no means is it over. It would be very strange for the end of Michael and Walt to just send them off in that boat without any acknowledgment of what has happened. But if you look at the bigger picture of Lost, there’s a circularity to the way that story is going to unfold in the overall mythology, and that is a long, planned approach. Yes, we’ll get back to the Michael and Walt story, and it will be really compelling when we do. But that’s most likely a year 4 story.

If Harold’s new show is being picked up, this could mean trouble for Lost since Michael’s storyline isn’t supposed to be over.

It’s possible that he could do both shows considering that Michael has left the Lost island and isn’t currently an active character, so I’m still hoping that we will see Harold Perrineau reprise his role in a future episode, but I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Is Evangeline leaving lost?

Evangeline Lilly

It is well known that Evangeline Lilly, who rose to instant fame when she appeared as Kate on Lost, isn’t too comfortable with the massive attention she gets from the media and fans.

Now azcentral.com are reporting that Evangeline may be considering to ‘quit’ Lost if the fans don’t give her more privacy.

“I am an incredibly private person, and it’s so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. If I could act and make the income I make and be anonymous, I would never want to leave the job.”

First of all, I don’t think she can simply quit and leave Lost since all the actors are under contract. If she decides to leave, she would have to refuse renewing her contract and then Kate would be killed or otherwise removed from the story before the contract runs out.

Second, I am a bit surprised that she auditioned for the part if she wanted to avoid attention, but I understand that sometimes the attention can be a bit too much.

It would be sad if any actor/actress felt the need to leave the show because of the fans, but I’m sure that all of our readers are the nice kind of fans, right guys?

Will Lost return sooner than expected?

Fangasm reports that according to their sources, the second half of Lost Season 3 might return sooner than we were expecting.

Apparently, amid fears that the ongoing string of critically challenged replacements will bury ABC’s chances of regaining its Wednesday footing, execs at the alphabet network have dropped in on the LOST crew with the following proposition: how much money do you need to get LOST on the air early….

According to the site, if the Lost producers agree to the proposition the show could start airing new episodes as early as January 10 or 17, three or four weeks earlier than the currently scheduled February 7 return date.

It should be noted that Fangasm are the only ones reporting about this. There is no official source yet.

I’m not sure what to make of this. On one hand it would be fun to get new Lost episodes sooner, but on the other hand I don’t really mind waiting until February, and I certainly am prepared to wait to get high quality episodes instead of sloppy episodes rushed through production.

What are your thoughts?

Is Jack going to die?

The latest buzz in the world of Lost is that one of the most popular characters may not live to see the end of Season 3.

New York Post writes:

Rumors are all over the island that “Lost” is going to kill off Jack Shepard - the show’s lead character - when it returns in February.

“This is the most insane rumor regarding ‘Lost’ to date,” the show’s co-creator, Damon Lindelof, told E! Online, the website for the gossipy cable TV channel.

“The fact that you think we might do it is incredibly flattering,” he added ominously - a non-denial that has only stirred up speculation over the weekend.

I know a lot of you will be worried that we’ve seen the last of Jack now, but let’s look at the situation:

From a career perspective, it might be a good idea for Matthew Fox to leave Lost.
The show has skyrocketed him to popularity and into the attention of every casting director and agent in Hollywood. At the moment, he is one of the most popular actors in the world. If Lost continues to lose viewers and the show becomes less popular through the next seasons, naturally the popularity of the actors may go down too. I’m not saying that Lost will become less popular, but for the actors who are getting offers from Hollywood, it might be a risk to keep doing Lost and ignore the career opportunities they have right now.

Looking at the situation from the perspective of the mid-season cliffhanger with Jack holding Ben hostage in a room full of Others, I’d be lying if I said that Jack’s chances of survival are great.

If Kate and Sawyer escape, Jack is still trapped with The Others, and they didn’t seem very happy about Jack’s attempt to rescue his friends by putting Ben’s life at risk. As soon as Ben either wakes up or dies, Jack has lost his leverage and he will either be killed or severely punished. Unless there is a nifty twist in which Kate and Sawyer manage to save Jack that is.

I’m heading into semi-spoiler territory now but if you want to know why Jack may live, follow my footsteps. There is one quote by Lost exec Carlton Cuse that indicates that we will see more of Jack during the second half of Lost season 3:

Carlton: We’re doing a flashback story where you’ll find out how Jack got his tattoos.

Unless the episode where we find out about Jack’s tattoos is the one he dies in, this seems to indicate that we haven’t seen the last of Dr.Jack.

I still believe that Jack very well may die in a future episode, but I think there is more to his story than we’ve seen so it’s probably not his time to go just yet.

It should also be mentioned that Ben offered to take Jack home if the operation was successful. It is entirely possible that Ben stays true to his word and helps Jack leave the island.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Possible Spoiler

Kristen of E-Online recently said that her sources have confirmed someone very interesting may be joining the cast of Lost this season (especially for the Joss Whedon fans). She has generally been pretty accurate about this kind of stuff.

Since the role she is suggesting this actor will play is also considered a bit spoilerish, please keep comments about it confined to this article, and leave it out of comments to other articles in our blog; thank you.

Lilly and Monaghan to marry

According to The Sidney Morning Herald, Lost stars Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly plan to get married next year. The couple who portray Charlie and Kate respectively got engaged earlier this year after falling in love on the Lost set.

The paper reports that Monaghan can’t wait to become a father:

“I love kids. I love being around wild animals or babies because it’s a pure interaction there. They’re all about the moment. So I love being around babies. It’s fun.”

Assuming that the news are correct, congrats to Dominic and Evangline!

Ian Patrick Henry as Alvar Hanso in S3?

22 hours, 34 minutes ago by Cecilia

Possible Spoilers

I want to start out to say that this is somewhat speculative, based on The Lost Experience info, and not confirmed casting info. The actor that plays “Mr. Beardy” in the Sri Lanka video clips has been found to be Ian Patrick Henry, who had smaller roles in such shows as Seinfeld, Frasier, NYPD Blue and Alias. And now it is all but a lock that “Mr. Beardy” = Alvar Hanso from the video.

See IMDb Profile for more info.

IF there is casting crossover between TLE and the show LOST (which the producers have been hinting at, at least for video clips), then this is likely the actor to do it in S3. He does have the acting experience/solid resume as well as the JJ Abrams connection, through Alias.
