Possible Spoilers
Tonight we see the “game-changer”, the event that will change the scope of the series for the next 3 seasons. The question is what exactly will that be? How many answers will we get and how many more questions will be created in the process? A two hour Jack-centric season finale, coupled with the showdown between the Losties and the Others will undoubtedly provide us with topics of discussion for some time to come.
This is the official description of “Through the Looking Glass”:
SEASON FINALE - Jack and his fellow castaways begin their efforts to make contact with Naomi’s rescue ship.
Following last week’s episode, Charlie is in obvious trouble given his run-in with the femme fatales. Jack has been forced to expedite his plan with the Others fast approaching. And what of Locke? Will we have to wait until Season 4 to see his return?

Sayid gets captured again. He must be the worst soldier ever. Just once I’d like to see him win.

Ok, everyone knows whats going to happen. Locke is going to save the day sitting on the black smoke’s back and tearing up the town as he has fully discovered the island secrets that can only be achieved by coming back to life. duh.
Comment 9, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
sorry, i forgot to mention that joop will be riding shotgun.
Comment 10, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
That was a weird commnt about the Republican Guard rolling over. Would you want to fight for Saddam?
Obviously they wouldn’t either esp. againt the best army in the world.
Jack must be an idiot leading everyone into a trap all together; hasn’t he ever heard of a point man? Don’t see that might be a spoiler since we all saw in in the preview.
Still, can’t wait for tonite.
Comment 11, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
why do we have to burn everybody at the stake for giving away itty bitty little spoilers (like who’s episode it is or sayid gettin captured or charlie gettin beat up by LG women)? especially ones u can see in the previews on this site? can’t we just let it go every once in awhile? it’s in the rules for “no spoilers or disscussion of episode previews” but we’re breaking the rules right now by discussing the episode comin up! cum on! just let it go unless they’re giving away a HUGE thing that isn’t in the previews. remember u have to “be kind and helpful” too. :)
Comment 12, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I have mixed emotions! I cannot wait for tonite but I am sure going to be jonesing for some LOST a few weeks from now and then for a long time to come….
Comment 13, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Wonder if Patchy comes along with the Others or is he still smarting? hah ha.
I bet Charlie buys it but Desmond snuffs the Looking Glass babes. Maybe they hesitate to shoot Des because he’s so dreamy but don’t falter in shooting Charlie after they heard him singing.
Maybe the French Lady will toss some dynamite at the Others when they have the gang at gunpoint. She seems too smart to get caught up in a field, and what about her daughter?
Can Para-chica fight? She looks smart…though maybe too smart?
Comment 14, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
We are almost there!!!.. after tonite, a lot of things will change, most of us, will recover our normal life (at least until next february). and others will dig into the past seasons dvd to find answers. But for sure, lets enjoy tonites 2 hours of fanatic pleasure.
Comment 15, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I am excited and I will take a few weeks to soak it all in then I will go back to the beginning and fill the rest of my year with a rehash of the season from my DVR…we I am excited and sad like any other addict at the thought of the drought about to come.
I will be back with 2 cents…

The real question is: was Jack having the flashforward or is that just narrative? If he is maybe he will realize he is not supposed to leave the island.
Also, I am glad they killed Charlie. He was a dead weight

OMFG! that was crazy!! The whole time i thought Jacks flashbacks were right before his father died. Im still wondering why he told the doctor to get his father to see who is more drunk. Best episode of Lost ive seen thus far. Charlie’s death was heartbreaking, we all knew it was comming but to see it actually happen and exactly how it happened was touching.
Already counting down the days til next season!!

If it was a flashforward, what was with Jack having the bandage on his forehead. I agree with Toeknee…this has to be watched again.

Comment 41, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
what did the newspaper say that jack had? Does any one know where there is a still picture?
Comment 42, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I’m guessing Locke’s funeral. They all get off the island, Jack begins (for some reason) to think that Locke was right all along, begins to see him for the visionary he truly was.
Plus, there was no one at the funeral. Seriously, does Locke have anyone who would go to his funeral? No.
My one hesitation is that Locke was seen hightailing it out of there at the end of the ep, so I think it’s possible that he just hid out in the jungle to avoid rescue, while everyone else left.

Comment 45, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
And, uhh, hey, what the hell? Jack said “page my father”…was that a sarcastic joke or is this some sort of alternate timeline? But that REALLY wouldn’t make any sense….

The writers from Alias did it to me again. The jump forward into time allowing the next season to plug away at filling in the holes. Alias never delivered and I have been on this ride before. Fool me once, shame on you…
I give. I am off the island along with the rest of them, never to return.

**Spoiler laden if you haven’t seen it on the other coast yet**
I’m sorry, but that pretty much sucked. There were some good LOST moments, good action, suspense, but I’m pissed about Charlie–I couldn’t even watch–and I’m sick about the flash forward. And, answers? Like what got answered? Who is Jacob? What is Mikhail made of that he can die multiple times and live to tell the tale? Ben is a sociopathic homicidal maniac–but maybe he’s right? Jack grows up to be his…father? Oh, puleese. Who’s lost? I think viewers are going to be.

I think I’ve figured out the solution to the “Why does Walt keep showing up?” equation. Jacob controls island right? So he keeps “transforming” into Walt and encouraging people and things to get done what needs to be done.
Comment 52, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
not to mention the scripts in his pocket…
if he is still alive,
he should know that he’s a granddaddy!!!
Comment 53, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Jack’s thing about his father was sarcasm. Why else would he say “don’t you know all I have been through” right after if it wasn’t to remind the other doctor about his father’s tragic death
Comment 54, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I thought it might have been Ben’s funeral.
Comment 55, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I’ve never been a Charlie hater nor a fan of his, but I loved his work in this episode. So I was sad to see him die.
In a recent podcast, there was an interview with Dominic. He was asked if he was worried about his character getting killed, and he was pretty nonchalant about it. Perhaps he already knew Charlie was a goner before that interview.
Comment 56, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I hate the flashfoward. BOO on them for it.
OR is it ALTERNATE REALITY! Think about it. Locke is always saying “this is whats supposed to happen” and Locke says “You aren’t meant to leave”. hmmmm.
Comment 57, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
the same thing happened that happened in the last two season finales…more questions are piled on top of the ones we already have but they have to start answering them soon and stop messing around
R.I.P. Charlie
Comment 58, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
jack’s dad hasn’t died yet in his flashbacks… right?
Comment 59, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Jack’s “flashforward” appeared to be happening throughout the entire journey to the radio tower. For all we know, it was exactly the motivation he needed to turn off the sattelite phone at the beginning of next season. Anyone/anything can interfere w/ the transmission or get the phone from Jack and turn it off. Once it’s disabled, a gps no longer can be established. I don’t think we’re getting off the island anytime soon…..
Comment 60, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Everyone knows they don’t kill anyone important unless the music plays. The sudden deaths come to those they introduce the week before. Why the future? I will be thoroughly disappointed if that was the actual future. They must have something better planned for next season, because that ending was ridiculously lame.
Comment 61, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I don’t think it was flash forward because Jack was telling the doctor to bring his father down, and to compare who was more intoxicated. No?
It was sad to see Charlie die but we was expecting this to happen. Ughhh! Lost is the best tv show ever!
Comment 62, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
WOW … that was awesome … a flashforward! Only thing that wasn’t consistent was Jack referring to his dead Dad.
But all the early questions are answered: Dharma was killed by Ben. All the others are dead (except Richard and the others to the “temple”?), Russo has her daughter back, and everyone survives except Charlie (who was ok with dying).
I wonder if they’ll do next season back on land to work out “why they weren’t supposed to leave.” My guess is the funeral was for Ben or Locke. Perhaps Naomi was working for Penelope’s dad.
But overall, this was a kickass finale. Jack stood his ground. Syed and Sawyer kicked butt. And Jack makes out with Juliet and then he tells Kate he loves her….
Comment 63, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
i think maybe it was suppose to be sawyer’s funeral.
Comment 64, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I’m thinking that it was ben’s funeral… Jack showed up because, I guess he owed him an apology, finally realizing that Ben was right. That would explain why no one showed up, since obviously none of the other losties would hold sympathy to hte man that kidnapped and killed their people.

Well it will be well worth the wait. Just hope ABC doesn’t shove it back to start at Midnight or something! : )
Comment 69, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I’m not sure if they could of left it more wide open. I think Jack was being sarcastic about this dad. I think it was Sawyer who died, for some reason. So much to ponder. So many replays to watch.
Comment 70, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I have to say that this finale definitely delivered. 15 deaths (i could be off there), if Mikhail has indeed kicked it.
One quick point. I think what we saw was a possible “flash-forward” for Jack. The one thing that stuck out to me was that based on the dialogue it seemed that his father was still alive. Either that, or Jack was totally off his rocker, which is possible. If Christian is still alive, then something happened on the Island to alter the past, and obviously the future.
Comment 71, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
i think the real hero in this episode is Hugo Hurley…everyone should be proud of the most beloved lostie for finally getting to be part of the action and he saved everone of their lives…Long Live Hugo
Comment 72, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I think it was either sawyer or jack’s other girl that was at the funeral because sawyer has no one at all either that would come to his funeral.
Comment 73, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
alright got to try & get this all out:
1) i knew they wouldn’t kill sayid, jin, or bernard! the others are to big of manipulators to actually kill them.
2) i think it was a flash forward. and i think kate is with sawyer now. don’t know who’s funeral tho.
3) radinsky (or it’s something like that) was on the other side of that call! wasn’t he in the hatch with desmond and the guy who taught sayid how to torture people or was he the guy who supposedly shot himself in the hatch? i can’t remember which but he’s one of those, right? help me out here people.
4) i can’t believe charlie died like that! mikhail is gonna die one way or the other.
5) i luv how hurley saved the day & killed o what’s his name & i agree with sawyer that tom didn’t mean it.
6) flippin awesome episode!!!!!!!! i can’t stop screaming!
Comment 74, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
You know what, this was a pretty frustrating viewing experience. But not in the good way, in the I’m-mad-and-impatient way. It ended bleak and hopeless, so the point would be…what gets lost stays lost? Jack becomes a jerk? The Flash Forward means…nothing? Everything? So why watch 3 more years of adventure and killing and whacky mystery if hero Jack learns nothing and becomes zero Jack?
Can’t think of a good reason.
Comment 75, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
The funeral was for BEN!!!! He is neither family or friend!!! And NOBODY would go to his funeral!
Comment 76, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply

Comment 77, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
No one has mentioned Penny’s phone call. Where is she and how do she connect to the island from where ever she is? Whos sent the ship and is the story of them all dying just made up by Naomi?
Comment 78, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
what about Sawyer? Couldn’t it be his funeral? I mean, Kate sounded pissed when she said “why would I go to his funeral”
Plus, it might sound silly, but she was driving a nice Volvo, Sawyer is too much of a deadbeat to buy her that car
Comment 79, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I think I have a really good theory that I developed based on some other comments. First of all it was not penny’s boat as Naomi had originally said, so something is fishy about that. Second maybe the vision of jack in the future was that of desmond’s and desmond calls jack and tells him it is not the rescue boat that jack turns of the phone.
Comment 80, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
could the “flashforward” be a flashback, with Jack and Kate as siblings? What if they “shouldn’t have left” their father?
Comment 81, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
did anyone notice how much older walt looked and it has only been like a month since they left…clearly the island slows time from the real world unless that was either a) an illusion of lockes since he was pretty messed up or b) jacob looking like walt
and why couldnt locke move his legs when he first woke up?

and my boy WALT returned!!!! with a new MANLY BEASTLY voice!!! represent!!
Comment 86, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
HELLLOOOOO people…if Jack is strung out on drugs in the future, then so what if he says page my father? HE IS ON DRUGS??!!!!???!!! I don’t think that discredits it as a flashforward.
I give the episode a 6. It had its great moments but it was no chin dropper by any means.
My guess is the next 3 years will be spent seeing these flashforwards to how getting off the island actually effected their futures, and how different life would have been if they had stayed.
My vote for the funeral? Locke. He was the man that Jack did not like, but yet, somehow strangely admired (thus the going to see his “body” or whatever).
I’ll keep following until the end, but this “blockbuster” season finale was not nearly as good as “The Man Behind the Curtain.” Maybe that rockin’ episode spoiled me, I dunno. But this was no where close to that.
(but I still love the show, just bein’ honest!)
Comment 87, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
why was the funeral in a ‘black’ area? what does that clue mean? and why did charlie allow himself to die? to bring forth damon’s prophecy i suppose…can’t see another reason…and finally, the stupid van episode comes back to actually mean something!
Comment 88, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Man… that was the big game chager? I’m seriously disappointed. Now the suspense is ruined for at least two characters we know won’t be dying on the island. The best part of Lost to me is the mythology, and what’s going on on the island. I wish we had learned more about that.
Comment 89, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
I disagree that they have answered any questions… they’ve answered most of the old questions of what is dharma and who are these “others,” and do they get off of the island.
They have introduced some new issues like the Locke/Walt & Jacob angle trying to keep them on the island and Penelope still looking for Desmond and her lack of relationship to Naomi.
I vote that either Ben or Locke in the casket. I also think that this a Shawshank Redemption thing that Jack can’t re-adjust to the regular world… and what about this “secret” he referred to Kate in the flashforward?
Comment 90, posted 1 year, 6 months ago - Quote and reply
Okay and what is up with the boat? It is NOT PENNY’S BOAT! Well then whose boat is it? This is crazy!!!!! I can’t take this!!!

(chilled out)
Aight, really exhilirating episode, the Others finally got their long-overdue ass-kicking, especially that Tom jackass. Liked how Hurley finally pulled through in the end, felt good about that, Charlie’s death was probably the single biggest kill-offs on the show to date.
But again, this episode did what every other season finale of Lost has done…answering virtually no questions and compounding them with even newer ones.
Such juicy questions people should be asking after this would be:
a. Whats the “temple” Ben mentioned?
b. What exactly is the nature of Naomi’s team? It appears they’re not associated with Penelope after all, since in the hatch rendevouz with Charlie she hadn’t heard of Naomi, unless that was some sort of time-warp.
c. If Naomi’s team really are “bad guys”, whats their true face?
d. How did Walt re-appear on the island?
e. What impelled Locke to confront Jack again?
f. Who’s funeral was Jack trying to attend in the future? What became of the rest of the 815 passangers?
g. What happened to the rest of the Hostiles? Who is Jacob?
Oh, and lets not forget the Season 2 finale loose-ends…
h. What the hell is the four-toed statue that was briefly glimpsed and not so much as mentioned again?
i. What became of Michael and Walt?
And perhaps the original mystery of Lost…
j. WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MONSTER
