1. He wrote some Prescriptions that were illegible and needed to clarify them to suffering patients.
2. He needed more ugly tattoos.
3. Had to get his billing up to date for the Office.
4. Needed more lessons in being an arrogant hero.
5. Two words: Free Drugs!
6. Needed more acting classes—the toothy grin and Angry Man look was where he left off.
7. Kissed most of the chicks on the island and was moving on.
8. Went back to get his Yacht.
9. Was missing the mini bar in his Hotel.
10. Had to find a movie deal to make up for that horrible; Vantage Point.

I agree. I think that is why Jack got appendicitis. D&C had to give him a reason to be one of the first off the island because it is not in his character to get off before everyone else was safe.

Seriously, he pushed the button so late that it caused the plane to crash. He could’ve cared less that the computer was busted. He pushed the switch that blew up the hatch. He led (ie influenced) Charlie to go to the station and cancel the interference, allowing Jack to use the phone and contact the freighter. Everything significant that Des has done has been for the benefit of Widmore finding the island. IMO, sure he loves and misses Penny and if he impresses her father by helping him find the missing island… I’m not saying Widmore is pulling his strings. I’m thinking it is a plan entirely hatched by Des to win over Widmore and get his approval.

Other thoughts: Has Ben been able to leave since the sub was destroyed? I think Ben got off the island with the O6 (and possible some others) and is as unable to get back as any of them. Ben is in the coffin.

Jack would only leave the island under 2 circumstances: 1. he was forced or 2. pure circumstance. It is inconsistent with his character to leave any one unwillingly behind. When they got off the island in the first hour, that was a flash-forward. in “real time”, they are still on the island or freighter.

I have to disagree at least in the LOST storytelling sense. Last episode had the “whoosh” sounds for scenes on the island and freighter implying that was the FB.

I have to disagree with the “all of Desmond’s visions have come true as far as we’ve been shown” statement. Desmond had a number of visions about Charlie (which the viewers were shown) which did NOT come true.

That is a good point PJ, and i’m not saying he would be gone forever, but look at Dominic (Charlie). He didn’t sign the contract for the 4th season, and yeah…he was in the first episode with Hurley, but we haven’t seen him since. I hope everyone stays until the end.

As for coffin predictions, i’m going to say that Michael Emerson is a terrific actor, perhaps the best on the show. I think his career could take off here soon, so it might be time to say goodbye to him on this show…so i’m going with Ben. Second guess, Locke.

The person in the coffin might be “dead” sometime in 2007, but on this show, it doesn’t mean they won’t act in every episode between now and the finale! Between flashbacks and “present time” episodes, whispers, ghosts, dreams and apparitions, being killed on LOST doesn’t mean you don’t work as an actor!
