Based on the end of The Brig, and on the trailer for The Man Behind The Curtain, it’s clear that Jack knows more than we’re aware of, and certainly knows more than he’s let on so far. With Sawyer playing the tape, it seems to me that Jack has got some ’splainin’ to do!

I worry most about the Jack/Juliet issue tonight. With all of this “Star Wars” banter going around… Jack=Luke and Jack strays toward the “Dark Side” of the Force (Others)… meaning he ventures out from the core values/objectives he shares with the beach camp Losties. Jack goes! Who follows? Who stays? Who follows the antiJack path?

I really don’t think Jack is “with” the others, I think he’s playing along and Jules is actually the one that is betraying her group, she knows that Ben will never let her go, so she needs a power shift. Goes along with my theory (and the hints being dropped) that Alpert and the others close to Ben are tired of his crap and are hoping to use Locke to overthrow Ben.

C&C have all but completely ruled out “hell”. They’ve definitely ruled out purgatory, so it follows that they’d likely rule out hell as well. Especially seeing as Cooper’s references to it last week were just too obvious for it to be true.

Hammer, I’m beginning to think along your train of thought, that Alpert et al are tired of Ben’s shenanigans. I also think that there is enough evidence to suggest that Juliet, while not trustworthy at this point, is also not necessarily completely on board with whatever The Others are up to. If anyone is to defect anywhere, I think it’ll be Juliet renouncing any and all allegiances to The Others and joining the quest of the Losties to get back home.

That episode was incredible. Just wanted to be the first to post on this. The scene with Jacob, can someone tell me that I’m not crazy? I swear, when Ben was at the rocking chair and told “Jacob” that he’s had his fun, and Ben was thrown against the wall, the camera panned back to the chair and I am sure I saw someone sitting in it! It was for only a second. Can someone confirm!?!

- Jacob is dead.
- Richard really cared when Ben said that he could see his mom who’s dead.
- Dead People aka Ghosts can move things around & not be seen.
- Ben is the only one who can see jacob since ben is the only one who can see dead people.

This is exactly what i was noticing. Lost doesn’t make mistakes like “bad make-up.” Alpert definitely didn’t age…something weird with time!

Why did Alpert let John do his thing? Looks like Ben’s agenda is overriding Jacob’s. Why does Jacob need help? Jacob is not Smokey.

Some points:

- Yes, Richard is 30+ years old and hasn’t aged a day. Is he one of the islands original inhabitance? How many toes does he have?!

- This adds more fuel to my theory I’ve said many times before: There is another set of “others”, more primative and unkempt, than what we see with the Ben group. Perhaps the Richard group that helpd Ben kill the Dharma people is a splint group from the main Others?

- This proves one thing: The Russian wasn’t lying when he told Syaid that he was the last of the Dharma survivors.

- I always thought the whsipers in the jungle were ghosts. Pretty boring however if it turns out to be an island of ghosts and angry spirits. Very lame. This could be the “jump the shark” episode if that’s what it turns out to be.

It appears quite apparent that their biological aging is inhuman, they made a point in this episode to show that Alpert hadn’t aged a day in 30 years, implying some sort of immortaility property here.

But if thats the case…where are the rest of the natives now? Ben said theres little to none of them left, that they had to recruit new people from teh outside, so what happened to all the other natives we witnessed at the end of the purge?

If Ben was the outsider, the only non-native, why the hell would they let him be the leader? That doesn’t make any sense unless:

1. Ben has some special powers because of the island.

OR

2. Ben is merely a ‘pinocchio’ where Jacob is the puppetmaster.

OR

3. Ben has discovered a way to kill/affect natives at will in such a way that they are genuinely afraid of him and take direction from him. (This would make some sense of the ‘help me’ comment by Jacob).

What do you all think?

2) Locke’s hurt…dramatically. Yes.

3) The Others (Hostiles) didn’t murder the Dharma people. This ep was clearly setup to make us sympathize with them, but how could people w/o access to technology develop a bioweapon like that? It probably CAME from Dharma. And if they couldn’t live peacefully on the island, then perhaps there was a state of war there and they needed to be repelled.

4) Ben’s not the only one on the island who sees dead people. I know no one likes him anymore, but remember Jack?

alpert is richard (richard alpert). he’s the dude who last week gave locke sawyer’s file & had the long hair in this episode durin one of ben’s flashbacks. (i think that hostiles/natives age differently then non-natives. that is y they r willing to risk women dyin to hav a baby)

I think the most intersting part of this episode was that Richard was a hostile while the Dharma initiative was running and that he didnt’ seem to age - was about 20yrs older than young-Ben and in present time hes about 10 or so yrs younger than Ben.

I’ve often thought that Dharm first used a bio-weapon on the island’s natives that killed most but not all. Could be that Alper and pals is all that is left of the original natives.

Terry - Desmond set off on sail boat race to prove to Pen’s Dad that he was worthy of his daughter…then ended up on the island as a button pusher.

LOCKE is Alive!, He’s Alive!! Get a Grip everyone!

Remember the line of ash around the house where Jacob was? Could be a magical/mystical tailisman(sp) to keep the spirit there!

It looks like this series is taking a turn toward the supernatural, besides all the abnormal psychology.

Locke is dead. What would happen if he made it out alive? He’d have to tell Jack and the other losties what he knew. But didn’t he tell Sawyer that he was on his own now?

Alex knew about daddy’s birthday plans, but Locke gets conned again, this time for good.

First post. A lot of good comments! A few thoughts from me:

(1) I don’t think we need to appeal to ghosts to explain Jacob. I think Jacob’s quasi-presence is in line with Desmond “seeing” more than one timeline at a time. That goes with a running theory I have about Lost’s fictional metaphysics . . . it’s more about “finding the right possible world” . . . the one your dharma is in line with. You can trick this out scientifically, if you want, with quantum mechanics providing bridges between possible worlds blah blah.

(2) I’ll be shocked if Locke is dead. I assume Jacob will help him . . . although I’m sure interested in seeing what help Jacob himself needs.

(3) I was dead wrong about one thing: I would’ve bet money that Locke’s “Dad” was actually the black smoke monster, just as Eko’s brother was. And not really dead. But I guess not, since they seem to have dropped that. Locke’s Dad is just dead.

Well if there WAS an incident, does that mean some of Dharma survived? What I don’t get is there would have been people in the stations, were they killed too?
