The GWC Letters on TheHansoFoundation.org
4 years, 2 months ago by CeciliaRead more: Lost Experience, The Hanso Foundation
Spoiler
As Andreas just announced, the official LOST webmaze TheHansoFoundation.org has just been relaunched. It relies very heavily on flash, so make sure your flash player is updated with macromedia; it also helps to have a fast connection. For those who are having trouble viewing it, I am going to include a big Easter Egg from the site; for those who want to figure it out for yourself, please be advised that this could be considered a spoiler.
The secret password from the U.K. phone number is “breakingstrain”. After going to Joop’s Corner and sending him a message, you’ll be connected then to “Persephone”, a mysterious individual who will communicate through a computer chat-like interface, and then see pictures of petri dishes with growing cultures; after you click on the circled colonies, you’ll see the following letters. I’ve retyped them from screencaps because the flash “moving spotlight” images can be hard to read. (I cut this article short so that it doesn’t take up too much blog space, please click on the link to read the rest of the first letter and the entire second GWC letter)

RE: Violation of Ethical Guidelines / The Hanso Life-
Extension ProjectCC: Mr. Peter Thompson, Vice President, General Counsel,
The Hanso Foundation; Hugh McIntyre, Vice President and
Communications Director, The Hanso FoundationDr. Johnson:
We have received word of an unfortunate and most alarming
issue in the past days concerning research operations by
The Hanso Foundation in the sub-Saharan region of Africa.
Sadly, we have exhausted our mandate as a watchdog
organization and must petition you for a formal
investigation. It has come to our attention that a new strain of
meningococcal disease has been reported in the coastal
villages of the United Republic of Tanzania. This strain
is particularly alarming in that it has successfully
breached the simian/homo sapiens barrier. As the enclosed documentation and correspondence
demonstrate, we have repeatedly asked the Executive Board
of The Hanso Foundation for assistance in determining the
possible correlation between the outbreak of this
transgenic disease and the research being conducted on
primates in their Experimental Station in Zanzibar.
As our requests have been met with utter and complete
disregard, we feel we have no other choice than to demand
your immediate intervention. As the Hanso Foundation is using primates to research gene
therapies intended for human use, the correlation should
be obvious…
Considering the alarming nature of this outbreak and
the mounting death toll it is imperative that The Hanso
Foundation immediately open the doors of their
Experimental Station for inspection and, should a link be
found between their work and this disease, cease and
desist their activities immediately.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

RE: The Hanso Foundation Life-Extension Project
Dr. Johnson:
Please consider this a formal apology for the heated and
alarmist tone of our previous correspondence, as well as a
formal request for the withdrawel of former Director General
Jacques Maillot’s request for an intervention into the
affairs of the Hanso Foundation. In the time since Monsieur Maillot’s letter, GWC’s
inspection team has been welcomed with open arms into The
Hanso Foundation’s Experimental Station in Zanzibar. Our
thorough examination of the Station has made it clear that
the benign, non-invasive research being conducted there
could not have possibly resulted in the outbreak of a
transgenic virus.Because we appreciate the CDC’s willingness to intervene
when lives are at stake, the last thing we want is to abuse
our close relationship with your organization — or sound
alarms before the need is absolutely clear. Once again,
please accept our apologies, and our appreciation of your
diligent response to our correspondence.Mr. Peter Thompson, Acting Director General

I logged on to the newsletter thing using Desmond as the username and breaking strain as the password and Persephone wrote a message saying that I was logged on and that I should check things out but that she had to go, then the site reverted to normal. I then went to Joop’s corner and wrote “persephone” and hit enter – that took me to the dishes and later to the hidden letters. It appears the site works in different ways.
Comment 2, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Interesting, Andreas… I wasn’t aware that the login name you use makes any difference. I’m probably going to play around with it some more today…
Job or someone who speaks French, can you please translate the first reply message? Thank you…

If you are referring to the first comment to this post, it’s Italian. I don’t really speak Italian, but I speak Spanish and am pretty good with languages. A rough translation would probably be something like this:
“During the start of Lost season 2 in England, there was a tv commercial for The Hanso Foundation containing a number to call (audio from the answering machine on TheTailSection) that lead to TheHansoFoundation.org.
The site is completely redesigned and has hidden secrets and easter eggs. You can communicate with a certain Persephone (password: breaking strain), and letters from Global Welfare Consortium will be seen.”

I got to thehansofoundation.org, and finally got to the petri dishes and letters. I did not get in through the Newsletter, I got in through the “Joop corner” by typing in the “password.”
I noticed a couple of things. The Petri dishes look very similair to the Hatch Door Map. Especially with the circles and lines connecting them, and the center circle in red. Looked a lot like the ? on the map.
What about the “watermark” (the red blotch in the upper center) on the letters. I thought it looked like an (the) island. Anyone else noticed this or am I thinking too much?
Comment 6, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Thanks for the translation Andreas, and thanks for the correction, KevinG, you’re right that you get the letters after you leave a msg for Joop (I was doing a bunch of things at once, and forgot what part the letters came from; you can only go through this section once). I’ve changed it in the blog.
On the other stuff, I’m not sure about those particular connections at this point, I think some of it may be a bit of a stretch.
Comment 7, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Hey now that I think about it more the Petri dish and map is a bit of a stretch. Specially since this gmae is for the UK as well, they don’t know about the map yet. And if memory serves they just learned of Hanso and Dharma.
Comment 8, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
GWC’s…
Did anyone else catch that Document 1 is from the Global WELLfare Consortium and Document 2 is from the Global WARfare Consortium? Or is that a typo?
I can’t get the Hanso site to do jack! Could one of you who’s had success confirm that it still works?
Comment 9, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Found: Website still works. Just checked it out.
Did anyone else stick around in Joop’s Corner after the you viewed the two letters? The webcam start showing the same lines as when persephone talks with with you, then other images start to bleed through. I couldn’t make anything out, but at one point what looked to be fuzzy letters appeared on the right side of the cam. Has anyone else seen this and figured anything out?
Comment 10, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I noticed something interesting while visiting the website. It says that the Life Extension Project is at the heart of what the Hasno Foundation is all about. Is this why ‘the others’ are so interested in children? Perhaps Ethan was performing Gene Therapy on Aaron.
Just thinking out-loud…well actually thinking while typing…but you get the idea.

It’s a typo. I’ve fixed it in the transcript, it should be Global Wellfare Consortium. My guess is that GWC is Lost’s World Health Organisation / WHO.

And I just can’t get the site to give anything up. I’ve tried “Desmond” “Persephone” and “breakingstrain.” Nothing.
Since this isn’t a tech support site, I’ll just sulk on my own. But PLEASE keep posting new findings so that I can at least read about it!

Comment 15, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
LOL! I’m really sorry for the typo, everyone (warfare for wellfare)… that was quite a Freudian Slip (and polar opposite meanings, too)! Sorry bout that, I didn’t catch it after I read it over. Thanks for correcting it Andreas.
Found, I believe its the “Sign Up For Newsletter” section that is the one that asks for the “breakingstrain” password. Then, I believe you go back to Joop and it reveals the clues. I’m having a little trouble remembering details, since you can only see the new clues once (the site appears to log your browser cookies). When you return to Persephone the next time, she tells you “No new messages”. As the site advances, we will probably get new msgs whenever it updates.
Comment 16, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
it is as you’ve said, Cecilia. I’ve scoped the letters over and over. I can’t wait to see the new episode. (I don’t have a TV, so I have to rely on the kindness of a co-worker and catch up on Thursday morning. It’s the only TV I watch. Literally!)
Two other small things that I’ve noticed about the Hanso site:
1. After visiting the GWC letters, the type on Joop’s Corner appears to be faded, like a printer that’s running out of toner (WHO’s an IT guy?). That might come out as some design, but I can’t make anything out.
2. In the top pane of the Mathematical project, the names of the African locations are whited-out.
Predictions:
-Future “secret passwords” will let you see the Board of Directors bios.
-One of the Board members name is “Liddy” and there’s no picture… anyone else smell “Libby” there?
-We’ll eventually be able to inquire more about the Mental Health project
I’ve spent too much time there already. :)
Comment 17, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I did not see any one talking abot the Executive BIOs.
Has Any one had any luck getting in to the Borad of Directors? I can’t figure out what the password and login might be? Tried “breakingstrain” no luck. Let me no if anyone cracks it.
Comment 18, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Found: Yeah, I also think there’s a second image behind those faded letters on that page…good observation. Unfortunately, I think we’re going to have to wait for some new code to crack it.
Did you notice that Joop’s face is superimposed with a second picture as well when it goes dark? It’s the doctor on the page of the Mental Health section (the white haired black gentleman with a stethoscope).
Remsleep: I think we’re going to have to wait for a new password before we’re able to unlock that section. I don’t think anyone will find passwords just by guessing…
Has anyone been able to get an open line on the U.S. clue? The phone number is 877 HANSORG ; it’s been busy the last 2 hours. If anyone is able to get in, please post, and I will do the same.
Comment 19, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
By the way, another clue. Go to the world map, you will see 3 dots over African cities (all of which cover sub-Saharan Africa, an area where they have real problems with meningococcal outbreaks, also known as the “meningitis belt” to CDC folks).
But there’s another nonmarked area, that’s over the Bermuda Triangle region. If you click on that, a blank dialogue bubble pops up. Click where the blank is, where you would ordinarily see words. You’ll get an ASCII code. If you do a number-letter switch on these numbers, it spells out:
M/I/S/S/I/N/G
O/R/G/A/N/S
Comment 20, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
“But there’s another nonmarked area, that’s over the Bermuda Triangle region”
Yeah, nice find
“You’ll get an ASCII code”
that’s not ASCII. It’s just A=1, B=2…
Comment 21, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
(Sorry for the 3 posts in a row, btw)
…Just wanted to share. Early news that’s coming back from the net connections are that a few of my friends who were able to get through the phone line through borkchat… are saying that the msg is exactly the same as the U.K. clue (they have checked it against transcripts which were prepared by brits who heard it early this week). So it seems we’re not getting different clues yet… so far. I’ll keep you guys posted if and when I hear more.
Comment 22, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Where is the world map?
Comment 23, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Has anyone been to the “Mental Health Appeal” and been able to find anything out from the “inqire today!” button. I can’t seem to get it to do anything.
Comment 24, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
has anyone put in “Libby” as the login, cause i did and the password i used was “breaking strain” something strage is going on … it kind of freaked me out.
Comment 25, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Mark–I’m no programmer, but I was told that the other symbols (not the number codes) on the outside are ASCII code. I’ll try to get someone else’s screencap for that later.
Allie — No one appears to be able to get into the Mental Health page without getting timed out. The world map is under Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program.
jb — it doesn’t matter what you use as a login. You will get the same msgs. The key is the password, not what you use as a login name, I think.
Comment 26, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Got through on the number…
It is a company answering machine for the Hanso Foundation, then it goes to a COmpany directory, ie Press one for Alvar Hanso, two for.. and so on for each of the board members. I pressed one for alvar hanso and it goes to a french or some foriegn language recording. It seems to have a glitch and then skips to Peter Thompsons Verizon Voice mail where a woman talks about the Korean offshore project. Peter then is heard ripping the phone away and he yells at you about that he will prosecute anyone who threatens him, and then he says namaste. and it goes quiet.
Comment 27, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
ok so i have a friend who works for ABC in advertising and had a hand in making some of this stuff (this project was done by their advertising people which gives you an idea of the point of it) and wouldn’t give me any specific info, but did give me some interesting clues. He didn’t know what tonight’s clue was so when I asked him for the password he named a few of the passwords that are to be… one was taco salad and another was the hatch numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 rearanged… he wouldnt tell me in what order… so i expect these to be answers to future passwords
he also made an offhand remark about finding clues on monster.com and verizon, both of which are mentioned in the phone message, but i have been unable to find anything about this on either site… can someone else try and see if they find anything?
Comment 28, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Has anyone noticed the Login next to the RSS symbol in the bottom right hand of the Hanso website. If so, has anyone been able to do anything with it?
Comment 29, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
If anyone hasn’t reasearched it, If you type in the numbers as a latitude and longitude coordinate, you get a location that is near the coast of Nigeria. I looked up the location of Zanzibar, and it happens to be a group of islands off the coast of Tanzania. Nigeria and Tanzania are on the opposite sides of
Africa.
Comment 30, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
On the press release page of the website, the word miracle is a link. However, it doesn’t do anything when I click it. I copied the link and put it in Word and the code is asfunction:miracleLink
Can someone else try clicking on it and see if it does anything?
Comment 31, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I noticed that on the Mission Statement page of the site, the logos of the active projects underneath the actual statement are not accurately indentified by the full names of the projects. Look under the line of logos and you’ll see that the Educational Outreach Imperative is listed twice and is a substitute for what should be Electromagnetic Research Initiative. Something that people consider to be the purpose of the Lost island.
Comment 32, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
And I overlooked and realized that the Educational Outreach Imperative is a substitute title for the Mental Health Appeal, which also is not listed. The Educational OUtreach is not listed as an Active Project either so I feel there is a connection between these three projects that is important to the show.
Comment 33, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Allie – I tried the “inquire today†link under active projects – mental health appeal – VIK institute and wrote a few things but each time it reads “sorry connection timed outâ€
Ben – I tried the link from the word miracle in the press release for the WWPDP, no response.
Under Newsletter…. if you look at the map (upper right hand side) there is a location marked by the red dot that is not marked under the main WWPDP world map that marks Hanso’s developments.
Then if you go under active projects – mathematical forecasting initiative in the upper right hand corner the article begins with COPENHAGEN, DENMARK…. which is exactly where the red mark is placed on the world map in the newsletter section.
Significant? I don’t know
Comment 34, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I noticed the login and rss buttons… you can see them by right clicking show all… I also checked out the config.xml file (http://thehansofoundation.org/config.xml)… in it there is the text “last edited by darwin@darma” commented out (maybe a typo by a lazy web dev)… there are also commented out links to “content_contact.swf” but that file does not seem to load anything…
Comment 35, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I also found the site http://www.geronimo-jackson.com
It is not up but Google has a cached page… the source is the following (Meta tags show they are signed to “locke and key records”… there are other Lost references in the Meta information)
Geronimo Jackson 2006
Macna Carta cover shoot, outside Nashville,TN.
We are currently in the studio recording new tracks for our upcoming self-titled EP.
A Brief History
“Geronimo Jackson” was formed on the University Of
Michigan campus. Our first album “Macna Carta” was released
by a tiny independent label; so if you haven’ heard of us, it’s okay!
We are trying to get the rights back to make the album available as
part of our current project.
The Geronimo Jackson “Sound” was a reflection of our
times, somewhere between Zepplin and 3 Dog night. Trippy pop grooves
with a tad of pre-disco funk. Our new songs will show that, while we
all went on to pursue more down to earth
endeavors, we continued to grow musically.
Keep checking back for updates! We are hoping to be
able to offer a few tracks from “Macna Carta” that wound up on the
cutting room floor!

Did anyone else notice on the Global Welfare Consortium Letters on the Hanso Foundation page that Peter Thompson one of the execs of Hanso, but also signs the second letter as an officer of the Global Health Consortium?
I’m not sure if this is a typo or intentional, but Global Welfare Consortium and Global Health Consortium are two different things.

Ok if you go to http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ and get to the main page here is the procedure to find this login field:
Right click on screen.
Choose “zoom in” option
Right click again and choose “zoom out” option.
Now you should see that your cursor is in the shape of a hand.
You should be able to “pull the screen up” by clicking and holding the mouse button and scrolling.
The login field is at the bottom outside of the screen view so pull the screen up.
I could not find a username that works and i tried. Good luck…
Elvis (NJ)
PS. There is also a link to the left of the login field marked “RSS” that has a strange error:
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity

Line Number 17, Column 26:Joop the Orangutan’s 105th birthday

Elvis, the RSS and XML thing is actually nothing strange. RSS is a technique used for delivering website content to RSS-readers. Read more about it here. The XML Parsing Error shows up because the RSS feed is not properly coded.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but did anyone go to the “board of directors” link under “executive bios”. One of the board members is a “Liddy Wales”. They do not show a picture. Could this be our very own Liddy from the Island? If so, she must be a mole, even from the beginning in the mental hospital. Aparently from the Hanso website, they are interested in healing the mentally ill. Was that hospital a Hanso facility? OMG!

So, I found out yesterday about this Hanso Foundation and I have been serching through it. I have uncovered the two letters and PERSEPHONE. But I cant login at the Board of Directors or can’t inquire at the Mental Health page.
Also I got through on the phone line 6 times this morning. I tried all the options. There isn’t much, just some good acting to get people to try to figure out the Hanso Foundations secrets. This is pretty cool though.
Anyways, if anyone finds anything about the RSS sign in, the Mental Health page “Inqiure Today” or the Login at the Board of directors, can you let me know?

I didn’t see anyone mention this yet, but I apologize if they have. I was looking at the website today & on the Home page, there is a press release link dated 5/5/06. If you click on it, it pops up a new window with a letter from Hugh regarding “the disruptions” to the site and says they are being fixed.
You can send him an email from the link on the letter. I’ve done this, but haven’t received any response yet. It also lists a phone number for him in the Seattle area, but I haven’t tried to call it.
Also, if you “select all” to highlight the page, you’ll notice in the bottom left, an area with no text, but you can click on it. If you do this, another window will pop up (with persephone.thehansofoundation.org being the website) and it only contains the following string of numbers all in one row across the page:

I just discovered something, and I didn’t see anyone mention it. Click on executive bios, and then on Alvar Hanso. Below where his picture is, there is a date of October 28, 2003, underlined. CLick on it. It takes you to the globe to show where he supposed ly travelled and then asks a question whether he is hiding. Persephone appears again. Let me know if anyone dicovers anything hidden there. I didn’t have much time to look.

http://valenzettifoundation.org is a FAKE website. It was made by a fan. The Valenzetti Equation is a book by Gary Troup. There is no Valenzetti Foundation.
Which also means the Global Paradigms Corp website was made by a fan, also, because it says it works with the Valenzetti Foundation, which isn’t real.

Please see the following new article:
http://www.lostblog.net/lost/tv/show/alvar-hanso-was-never-there
I updated the newer findings, and how to get through the subLYMONal page. The site appears to be updating fairly frequently now, so stay tuned, there will be new articles as the updates come up.
And just a final word of caution. There are a number of fan-based sites which claim to be “official” and part of the Lost Experience. Most are not confirmed or have been proven to be false, so do not take anything you read to be ‘canon’ until officially endorsed by public media (National newspaper ads, Hanso TV & radio commercials, etc) or a link through another official site such as THF.org. Many of the Valenzetti sites, Geronimo Jackson, SuperLotto, other Hanso sites are not real.
Oceanic-Air.com is one of the few other official show sites. However, it has not been updated in many months (many of the seating charts, letters, etc, were discussed online last year); just know that this is not officially part of the new LE webmaze *yet*, but probably will be once it is updated. OceanicAirlines.com is not official and fan created.

Much like the long-in on the bottom corner that keeps saying “Unknown User Name,” nothing I try works. But I noticed that before I gave Persephone the “breakingstrain” password that logged me in, if you typed something in that field nothing happened at all. But after being logged in if you type something in that field it at least tries to work for a few seconds. So there’s something to that field.

Mary wrote:
Thanks. I actually tried “heir apparent” when before ever talking to Persephone, etc, and it did nothing. But trying it again it takes me to the video clue. It’s a roster of the Caltech Alumni. The names listed on it (as well as I could make out) are Alan Frost, Adam Shuttlewersh, Andrew Ackerman, Anne Alleo, Alexander Gould, Barney Perky, Benjamin Paul, Carl Bennett, Charles Mitchum, Edwyn Austin, Elwyn Brooks, and Hercules Charles.
Then it says basically “Who is this guy” explaining that he’s not on the Caltech Alumni roster at all, and asking “Why does he call himself a doctor.” You’ll notice that his bio is listed as Thomas Mittelwerk, but he goes by Thomas Werner Mittelwerk in his phone recording and on the title above his bio, but in the bio it calls him Werner Mittelwerk.
One more thing about something else. If you click on the underlined date in Alvar Hanso’s bio you get the link explaining that he was last seen in Madrid, on 12-31-2002. But the date underlined explaining when that picture was taken says October 23, 2003 during a “humanitarian and diplomatic venture.” That is to say the photo was taken 10 months after his last known whereabouts.
Oh, even one more thing. In the phone messages to Hugh McIntyre, one of them is a girl saying they need to talk about Sri Lanka explaining “it’s just wrong.” Has Sri Lanka ever been brought up before?
Finally, does anyone know what the clues “MISSING ORGANS” and “taco salad” are for?
Comment 100, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I doubt what I’m about to say is right, but take a good look at the blurry photo of Alvar Hanso. The question they ask when you click on the date link asks “Where is he now?” Looking at the photo, is there any chance he’s actually the “other” they captured? I forget what name he used, but of course we don’t even know his real name. But they kind of both have a round face. Also consider how he knew that he didn’t have to push the button when John was trapped in the door.
Comment 101, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Has anyone mentioned that when you go to the “World Map” under the “Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program” you can click on a hidden link just to the right of the USA. When you do this you can scoll over the empty discription box and there is a flickering highligted box with alot of symbols and two sets of numbers 13/9/19/19/9/14/7 and 15/18/7/1/14/19. Does anyone think this means anything?
Comment 102, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Just a thought…..under the RSS button at the bottom it says
“Alvar Hanso profile updated
Alvar Hanso first made his mark during the Second World War, providing munitions to various resistance movements around Europe. After the War, Hanso became the leading purveyor of high-technology armaments for NATO.
http://www.thehansofoundation.org/#section=bios“
If Alvar made his first mark during WWII then depending on how old he was during the war…lets say at the youngest 20 he would now be almost 90! The man in the window does not look that old…so maybe the picture was taken quite some time ago…and “Where is Alvar”…maybe he is on the island going through the same treatment that Joop has gone through to stay alive. Let me know what you think.

Was also looking at the places Hanso was last spotted.
London 14/6/2000
Copenhagen 12/11/2000
Paris 23/2/2001
Geneva 12/7/2001
Roma 18/9/2001
Copenhagen 1/1/2001 (sudden jump back in time!)
Madrid 31/12/2002 (2 year gap)

Here’s something interesting that I don’t recall being discussed…
On the homepage there’s a disclaimer telling us to not read “Bad Twin” by Gary Troup (published by Hyperion Books). So I figure where else would you look up a book like this than Amazon.com. So I went there and searched for Gary Troup, but there is no such author. I searched for Hyperion Books as a producer and there are several (including “The Eternity Factor”), but not the book in question. But if you search under the title for “Bad Twin,” it brings you to a page for the book. Unlike most books that lets you view some of the content, this only lets you view the cover page. The cover shows the words “Bad Twin” written in sand along with the LOST logo and the authors name, Gary Troup, with small print underneath. Clicking on it for a zoomed in view, the small print reads…
His Final Novel Before Disappearing on Oceanic Flight 815.
Does anyone recall an author, or a “Gary” on the island?
It says you can purchase the book for $12.55, or an “audio download” for $7.50 if anyone wants to go there. Or you can package it with the complete first season for $72.50. There’s also a “Amazon.com Exclusive” that reads:
“Author Gary Troup delivered the manuscript for his hotly anticipated thriller, Bad Twin, just days before he boarded doomed Oceanic Flight 815. Watch the recently uncovered video clip of Gary Troup on Book Talk interviewed by Laird Granger talking about the controversy surrounding his mysteriously out-of-print first book, The Valenzetti Equation, and his new novel, Bad Twin.”
The words “video clip” in this quote is actually a link, so I went to it. The interviewer mentioned that he couldn’t find a copy when looking for it, so Troup says “I know” and explains it was a small printing to begin with before the interview gets cut off. Gary is a young guy who I don’t recognize from the island or the site. For reference, the interview itself is clip 3 of 9 (are there other clips with more clues), it’s show #1523 (two of the LOST numbers), and it took place on September 16, 2004.
The site also includes links to other LOST books (books most often purchased by those who purchased this book), and includes several Editorial Reviews. Reading the reviews, I’ll note the following…
-The book centers on a P.I. names Paul Artisan who travels half the globe tracking down Zander, the evil twin brother of his client Cliff Widmore, while discovering it’s hard to tell friend from foe.
-Hurley found this book on the island, and it fascinated Sawyer who began reading it. So Sawyer may know a thing or two about the Hanso Foundation since the book is said to be full of stuff about it.
-”Gary Troup” is an anagram for “Purgatory” prompting speculation that Stephen King is the author.
-A professor friend named Manny provides some clues in the book, and the context includes discussions about King Lear, redemption, and a philosopher named John Locke.
-clues include “Easter eggs” (I’ve seen this word before, but not sure what it means) seen on the show, coincidences with the show, and personality profiles that seem to resemble “the others.”
-Finally, nobody who read the book has any real answers. Thus concludes my Amazon.com search.

More on the book “Bad Twin”…
If you look up the book at http://www.barnesandnoble.com, they have their own exclusive video, which happens to be clip 1 of 9 of the same interview. He explains that he got the idea for one of the main characters from a boat captain that ferried people and supplies in and out of Cuba. But that’s about all they say.
Not much more on that page, except one quip mentions a copyright by “2006 Reed Business Information.”
So where are the other 7 clips?
Comment 111, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Looking around for some clue as to what the “login” at the bottom corner is, or as to what the “login and password” for the “Board of Directors” or even what should be entered in the “tell us a little about yourself” entry field on the Vik Institute page, I’m still stumped. It apppears we’re still missing some major clues. Someone said that he talked to Hugh McIntyre’s who confirmed that his password works but wouldn’t reveal it. He also said there’s some kind of “equation” that can be found online.
I also ran across the following video during a recent google search: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2303739044374474930&q=Hanso+Classification+Video&pl=true
It’s a video detailing the six stations that make up Dharma Corp which was set up by a grant by Alvar Hanso in 1981. The breakdown of the “Initiative Classifications” for each Dharma Corp station is as follows:
Station 1 – Pychological Research
-Behavorial Modification
-Dissociative Modification
-Psychodynamic Research
-Systematic Desensitization
Station 2 – Parapsychological Study
-Anamalous Phenomena
-Bilocation and Remote Viewing
-Telekenetics and GESP
-Clairvoyance/Clairaudience
Station 3 – Physics and Electromagnetics
-Boson String Research
-Matrix Mechanic Theory
-Paleogeography
-Quantum Electrodynamics
Station 4 – Zoological Sciences
-Cryptozoological Research
-Genus Aberrational Studies
-Phylogenetics
-Species Allocation and Conservation
Station 5 – Astronomy and Meteorology
-Electron Degeneracy Research
-Gravitational Radiation
-Peculiar Stellar Velocities
-Radiative Transport Study
Station 6 – Human Advancement
-Heterogeneity Refinement
-Cryogenics and Cellular Stasis
-Ectopic Inegration Studies
-Monocional Research
I’m trying to think back to the last episode where they ran into “the Pearl.” Does anyone recall what station number the video they watched said it was? I thought it said station #5, only it was a monitoring station which doesn’t appear to relate to Astronomy or Meteorology. At any rate, if you watch the video above you’ll notice that each station has it’s own unique symbol surrounded by the Dharma octogons. Of particular interest in station 3 because that’s clearly the swan symbol that we all recognized when they found the hatch where Anna Lucia and the rest of them were initially held up. Also station three has to do with electromagnitism which it seemed was part of the experiment in the main hatch where they push the button, etc. Although that could be psychological research as well.
But since the Swan symbol is definitely part of the something on the island (all the stations may be, but that one is for sure), the initiatives listed for station 3 may be of particular interest towards figuring out what’s going on.
Comment 112, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Looking up these words to see what they mean I’m noticing this video is nothing new, but at least it’s new to this page. I need to make one quick correction. The last initiative listed is “Monoclonal Research”…not “Monocional Research.”
Looking at these various terms they all appear to be major branches of science except for maybe one. There is nothing called the “Matrix Mechanic Theory,” although an equation introduced in 1925 defining “Matrix Mechanics” eventually helped to spawn Quantum Theory. But the Matrix Mechanics equation itself was considered obsolete by the mid-1930s, so why would Dharma Corp refer to it in 1981? There’s something fishy here.

It does. If you look around the site you’ll end up running into bigspaceship1.org, which is now down but lists the following names…

Dr. Marvin Candle, MLSM (Berkeley, 1974)
Dr. Orin Selenici, ACA
Marvin Candle is the now famous guy on the orientation videos played by Francois Chau. His name is an anagram for “Montand Liar Cover,” and Montand lost his arm at the block rock according to Rousseau.
Meanwhile, Sharon Alva is an anagram for Alvar Hanso, and Orin Selenici is an anagram for Oceanic Airlines.
And of course the book, “The Valenzetti Equation” by Gary Troup is discussed in clip 3 of Troup’s interview about his new book, “Bad Twin.” Relating to the book, there’s an audio presentation about it at…

It explains why Troup went to Sydney wherein he ended up on that fateful flight.
Also, I’ve noticed that at some point in the past that bigspaceship1.org site yieled the the code, 2FENO6, which appears to be the chemical compound with quantum properties which may somehow relate to “Matrix Mechanic Theory.”

Paul Artisan, P.I. is a new version of an old breed: a righter of wrongs, someone driven to get to the bottom of things. Too bad his usual cases are of the boring malpractice and fraud variety. Until now.
His new gig turns on the disappearance of one of a pair of twins, adult scions of a rich but tragedy-prone family. The missing twin, a charismatic poster-boy for irresponsibility, has spent his life daring people to hate him, punishing himself endlessly for his screw-ups and misdeeds. The other twin, Artisan’s client, is dutiful and resentful in equal measure, bewildered that his “other half” could have turned out so badly, and wracked by guilt at his inability to reform him. He has a more practical reason, as well, for wanting his brother found: their crazy father, in failing health and with guilty secrets of his own, will not divide the family fortune until both siblings are accounted for.
But it isn’t just a fortune that’s at stake here. Truth itself is up for grabs, as the detective’s discoveries seem to challenge everything we think we know about identity, human nature, and family. As Artisan journeys across the globe to track down the bad twin, he seems to have moved into a mirror-world where friends and enemies have a way of looking very much alike. The P.I. may have his long-awaited chance to put his courage and ideals to the test, but if he doesn’t get to the bottom of this case soon, it could very well cost him his life.
Troup’s long-awaited Bad Twin is a suspenseful novel that touches on many powerful themes, including the consequence of vengeance, the power of redemption, and where to turn when all seems lost.
Bad Twin is the highly-anticipated new novel by acclaimed mystery writer Gary Troup. Bad Twin was delivered to the publisher just days before Troup boarded Oceanic Flight 815, which was lost in flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles in September 2004. He remains missing and is presumed dead.

Wow.. I played around with http://www.oceanic-air.com/seatingchart.htm for a while and found a few things not mentioned yet.
1. Click the box on the lower right “Pre Board Check in” and the screen shows the words “Ethan Rom” with five boxes underneath. Place the letters in the boxes to spell “Other Man” and you get video clip showing Will. weird.
2. I clicked on a bunch of seats and some would turn green. When you click the green boxes, pictures of the different passengers show on the screen. Find the seat where Shannon was and Sayid’s passport comes up. Keep clicking the same seat and eventually a map appears behind the seating chart. It has lots of writing (French maybe?) and calculations surroundung what appears to be an Island.
I uploaded the screenshots to my personal webpage:

Does anyone here know French?

Hi to all:
I’m new to this so please bear with me. I started getting into the internet side of Lost this week after I saw the subLYMONal.com commercial. If you guys already know this then please forgive, I’m trying.
First I called the Seattle, Wash. number (206)861-5017 which of course is not a working number but the voice after saying that says “message 3T3GC1″, anyone have an idea what that is. I figure it’s a password of some kind.
Then when you dial (877)426-7674 and go through all the voice mails you hear the advertisement for Monster.com, Geronimo Jackson’s album Magna Carte, and a portion of a rap song that mention’s a Sprite can and mixing lemon and lime and getting lymon which I’m sure has something to do with the subLYMONal website, I just don’t what, yet. There’s another line of some song that gets repeated over and over but I can’t make out what it says. Anybody have any ideas?
This stuff is messin’ with my brain way too much.

About Gary Troup and “Bad Twin”.
My girlfriend and I were discussing the whole ethan rom = other man anagram, so I decided to play anagrams with the name Gary Troup. Turns out it is an anagram.
Gary Troup = purgatory.
TPTB at LOST have said that the island is NOT a purgatory-esque holding cell, so why would they choose to name the author of the book with an anagram of “purgatory”. Who knows?
The main character Paul Artisan doesn’t created any workable anagrams, but I’ll be on the lookout as I read.

Fred stated: “He also said there’s some kind of “equation†that can be found online.”
Would this equation be the area on the Hanso site where you click on the map?
It’s under Active Projects/Worldwide Wellness/click on World Map. When you mouse over an area just east of Florida, click it, then mouse over underneath the gray box – it will show you some characters and symbols. Is anyone good with equations and mathematics? :o)

Manda,
Any idea why the page with the second of your screenshots…
http://www.geocities.com/amandababanda/map2.bmp
isn’t coming up. Did TPTB take it down, or is it just a glitch on your part?
I went to the seating chart like a year ago, but I don’t recall the stuff you’re pointing out so it might be newer add-ons. The background of the first screenshot looks like a possible map of the island, and along the right-hand margin about half the way up it appears to say “Des Mon” as in the guy who got his arm cut off, possibly in the same incident that took Marvin Candle’s arm, near the black rock.

O, Also when you go to oceanic-air.com . If you go to “View/Change Flight” Under travelers, if you read the example numbers in order, they are 4 8 15 16 23 42. Weird!
i don’t know if that was mentioned but if it was sorry.

Actually, the “message 3T3GC1″ is a code used by the telephone company to identify the status of the line (i.e., disconnected, out of service, unpaid bill, etc.)
Of course, it’s entirely possible that ABC/whomever has gotten permission to set up a recording on that line that SOUNDS like a telco code but is really supposed to be a password for something.

Bad Twin
By Gary Troup
Below are two letters between author Gary Troup and his Australian publisher. They are among his last known correspondence.

Mr. Gary Troup
481 West 68th Street
NY NY 10023
USA
Dear Mr. Troup,
I wanted to drop a line to tell you how delighted I am that Walkabout will be publishing BAD TWIN here in Australia, and how pleased I am to have the privilege of being your editor. I have long been a fan of your work, and have lobbied for several years now to have your books introduced Down Under, where I believe they will attract a wide audience as well as the critical acclaim you’ve deservedly enjoyed in the States. BAD TWIN, with it’s wonderfully evocative scenes in Sydney and at the Reef (not to mention its intriguing if not entirely flattering portrayal of Australian womanhood!) is the perfect vehicle for launching you here in the Antipodes.
I am happy to tell you that we are planning a major promotional push for your book, and I am wondering if we could lure you to Sydney sometime soon, to meet with our marketing people and to work out some details of your publicity tour. We would insist, of course, on arranging your accommodations and covering your expenses, as well as trying our very best to show you a damn good time while you are with us! Please let me know if you are willing to make the journey.
Warm regards,
Christine

Dear Christine–
Thanks so much for your kind note. Like every other sort of salesman, I rub my hands with glee at the thought of opening up fresh territory—and Australia is a big territory. I very much look forward to working with you.
Regarding my willingness to come to Sydney, you should know that I never miss a chance to visit your beautiful city—and if the trip is on the publisher’s dime, so much the better. I trust that entertaining me will not be too difficult for you and your colleagues; just have a few bottles of your excellent shiraz on hand at all times.
Now, as to my portrayal of Australian womanhood… You may as well know that the love-interest in BAD TWIN is not an entirely fictional creation. While doing my research last year, I met a countrywoman of yours who is every bit as fetching (and let us hope more trustworthy) than the character Pru in the novel. Not to flirt, but what is it about this strange attraction between Australian women and American men?
Which reminds me, please don’t call me Mr. Troup anymore. I write private eye books, not literary novels, and I am not to be taken too seriously.
Let me know when it would be convenient to have me visit. I am taking a break between books and could travel almost anytime.
Cheers,
Gary

Did anyone notice that on subLYMONal.com, the number of times you have to click on the televisions corresponds to The Numbers?
First tv = 4 clicks
Second tv = 8 clicks
Third tv = 15 clicks
etc.
Subtle and clever, I thought.

Also, I’m sure I’m reading far too much into all of this, but I was struck by the images of healthy and mutated cells under the Institute for Genomic Advancement.
First of all, the wording made it seem as though the first image was of a mutated cell and the second was the healthy, although it’s the second image which has been altered:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/MissMoira/hansocells.jpg
The other thing I noticed is that the second image has a red image superimposed on top of it, and it almost looks like a face: forehead, jaw line, nose and chin. Here is my (extremely amatuer) attempt to isolate the red in the second image:

I just came across this and thought it was interesting. If you go to the oceanic airline website and get the seating chart click on the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 it will take you to a screen that says Lost. Under that there is a bar code if you click on it it will ask for a code. I put in namaste and it linked me to the Hanso website.

OOPs, typing in namaste had nothing to do with it -clicking on the beam of light did it. Sorry

Does that mean anything to anyone? You’re “namaste” followed by a link has me thinking you know something you’re not telling us.
Interestingly, if you just go to http://www.paik-heavy.com, it explains that their site is experiencing technical difficulties, and that if you have an “urgent matter” to leave a message for Peter Thompson at 877-426-1614. Of course we know Peter Thompson as the “Vice President, General Coucil, and Secretary of the Hanso Foundation” per his bio at the site.
Comment 135, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Clicking on “About Paik=Heavy Industries” brings up a page fool of goodies set up by Peter Thompson. I’ll cover the page as best I can…
The first section is called “b=” and it contains to links. The first link asks for a number “from the start – the position of the first s” (hint: position “1″ is O). The hint clearly means you start from the paragraph with the first letting being position 1. Counting until you reach the first “s” means the number is either 22 not counting spaces, or 27 counting spaces.
The next link says “questions” taking you to a page where indicating clues to figure out what a, b, c, and d are equal to. Following the clues it’s clear that a = G, c = A, and d = B. Now “b” is tough to figure out because the site with the clue is down, but if you search the site for “polar bear” and clicked on the cached page, you can see that it’s a multiple choice quiz with question 1 giving a, b, and c as possibilities. I’d assume the same letters are the possibilities for question #4 (although maybe it might also have a “d” option), wherein I’m guessing that b = C. So a, b, c, d appear to be G, C, A, B respectively. Is there something called a “g-cab”?
The next section contains the following six links…
Update
160145162163145160150157156145
4161624788
77 111 114 101 32 73 110 102 111
67 111 100 101
73 109 112 111 114 116 97 110 116 32 85 112 100 97 116 101
Interstingly, the Dharma Corp symbol of octogons surrounding a specific symbol for each station is based on the “Ba-Gua.” It appears to be an ancient Chinese number system that’s kind of like a three digit binary code. That is to say that the eight sides of the octogon are represented by the numbers 000, 010, 011, 001, 100, 101, 110, 111, which each having it’s own meaning (water, fire, earth, etc). So this might play into these numbers where they appear.
When you click on update you’re taken to a “Phi-Era blog spot” updated by Thompson. Tags to the site include the words “truth, good, Hanso, and namste,” although I’m not sure if tags are ever clues. A link there entitled “sorry” takes you to a page that includes an audio file entitled “namste.mp3″ containing Morse Code. The link is…
http://esnips.com/doc/c4381425-7756-4144-ac48-6f09963d5b85/namste.mp3
Comments to this link explain that the code means: “SECURE COMM CRITICAL. MORE INFO TOMORROW.” However, the audio may have changed since it was posted so if you know Morse Code you might want to verify this. It seemed rather long, so maybe more has since been added to this.
BTW, I considered the possible anagrams for “namaste” just in case that might be a clue, and I get two options which are “a stamen” and “Eastman.” I’ve searched for any possible link between the Hanso Foundation and Eastman but found nothing. But noticing here how the word is simply namste, it’s anagram is simply “stamen.” Might the word “stamen” be a password for something?
The number links take you to the same blog spot. I’m guessing it’s code of some sort. When you click on the numbers 160145162163145160150157156145, Peter writes in his blog spot: 687474703A2F2F7777772E676F6F676C652E636F6D2F636F6F702F70726F66696C653F757365723D30313239333237353439393535373037303938303600
Comments to this look like binary code for the most part, although is like a code full of stuff like “%50%65%74%65%72%20%48%6F%77…” and another appears to be a translation reading…
“Sorry it didn’t work out, it was a group try. If you see an oval rash you must deal with it immediately. Or at least check the source.
There wasn’t much we could do about the open sphere. She was on a phone spree and we had to get out of there.
104 116 116 112 58 47 47 119 119 119 46 112 97 105 107 45 104 101 97 118 121 46 99 111 109 47 110 97 109 97 115 116 101 46 104 116 109″
If anyone can make any sense of this, please share it with the rest of us. Moving on, for the numbers 4161624788, Peter only writes “To Status Level Blue-1 in 4 hours.” and again there are comments full of numbers and binary code.
Fpr the previously posted numbers, 77 111 114 101 32 73 110 102 111 and 67 111 100 101, Peter includes binary code and there are no additional comments. For his first blogged numbers, 73 109 112 111 114 116 97 110 116 32 85 112 100 97 116 101, Peter includes a large amount of binary code and additional comments are also full of binary code.
So basically we need a binary code expert to figure out what all of these numbers are about. The next few sections, subtitled “Great Stuff on Amazon,” “THF” (as in The Hanso Foundation), and “466F6C6C6F7700″ refer to stuff we’ve already seen and/or talked about above.
The next section “Namaste” includes two pictures. The first is like a photo from a plane of a city. You can see a big river, a park with a couple practice baseball diamonds, trees, roads, buildings, etc. The second picture is a cloud shot taken from the ground (you can see a corner of a tree). I can’t imagine what you can tell from the photo itself, but there is info about the photos. For the cloud shot, the photo was taken on May 13, 2006 at 7:06 PDT (uploaded to web at the same time) with a LARGAN Digital Mega+2, along with details like aperature, etc. The city shot only tells you it was taken the same day, but won’t let you access any more info.
The last section entitled Gary is simply clip 3 of 9 of the Gary Troup interview discussed above. That appears to be it for the page.

Hi, new here.
Click on Executive Bios, then Dr. Thomas Mittelwerk – type Heir Apparent (with the space) into the box that proceeds “…as Alvar Hanso’s right hand and…”, and hit enter.
I found this by clicking on the clock when it turns to the word “OB:EY” instead of the time, and then going though the motions that follow. You can reach this without waiting for the clock to change by going to http://www.sublymonal.com

Well I guess I have to be binary code expert, and a decimal code expert as well. Heck, with the web, anything is possible. I’m going to translate the entire blog spot page starting with the original message (posted last) working my way up to the most recent, including responses to each message (translated content in quotes). For comments to each message I’ll simply mention the name of the person responding with the format for the response in parentheses. I’ll also begin with time for each post in brackets.
[May 11 at 1:02am] The first group of numbers, 73 109 112 111 114 116 97 110 116 32 85 112 100 97 116 101, is a decimal code translated as…
“Important Update”
This is followed by binary codes which decodes as…
“Communication protocol compromised. Some future messages posted here.”
Comments to this message include…
[1:46am] fandango (binary code): “Who are the others, and where is Walt?”
[2:11am]W Dawson (binary code): “I am here.”
[2:40am] Beardy (binary code): “I see what you did there.”
[6:33am] etd4 (binary code): “cool”
[6:41am] WeLoveCov (binary code):

[5-12, 5:36am] Diana (English): “I’m wondering if MY comment is going to post as computer code?”
[8:18am] thetrewth (binary code): “persephone says this is all lies”
The site listed is a LOST message board, and they claim this site to be a fan hoax, but I’ll continue with my efforts nonetheless, but in subsequent replies. I have to go get a bite to eat before proceeding further.
Comment 138, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I just realized where I said “decimal code,” that’s actually ASCII code. At least I think. What I’m sure of is that the decoder is working just fine for both codes.
Continuing…
[May 11 at 1:51 am] The second set of numbers, 67 111 100 101, translates to…
“Code”
The binary that follows reads…
“Heir Apparent”
There are no comments responding to this message. By now we you should all know what this refers to. Of note, there are several possible anagrams for this phrase, including…
Hint Reappear
Hine Area Prep
Apparent Hire
Appear Thinner
Athena Ripper
Rhine Parapet
Peter Pirahna
Repent Pariah
Hernia Tapper
Hear Taper Pin
Pre Heart Pain
Rapper In Heat
Hi Ape Partner
Earn Ripe Path
Henri Trap Ape
The Iran Paper
Peter Pan Hair
Moving on…
[May 11 at 1:52 am] Peter’s third entry, 77 111 114 101 32 73 110 102 111, translate to…
“More info”
The binary that follows reads…
“P-H.com use the numbers”
Again there are no comments in response. Going to this website takes you to “Prutchett and Huss Associates, Inc.” which advertises “health education.” I don’t recognize any potential clues at this site, but if you to their “facts and figures” section there’s a somewhat relevant quote…
“It is possible to store the mind with a million facts and still be entirely uneducated.”
I’ll continue in the next post…
Comment 139, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
Oops…the second anagram above has a typo. That should read “Hint Area Prep.”
Continuing…
[May 11 at 3:12am] The numbers 4161624788 seem to be something else because the decoder isn’t working correctly on it. Peter follows this code with English saying…
“To Status Level Blue-1 in 4 hours.”
[12:42pm] Fandango replies a long string of numbers that may or may not be a similar code.
[3:17pm] incompletegenius (binary): “Ow my head… What code are we dealing in now? The morse shall be my downfall! What’s so special about this project in particular Peter – Care to shed some light?”
Is that possibly a phone number, as in 416-162-4788? Probably not since I’ve never heard of a prefix starting with “1″. It would make more sense if it were something like 415-762-4788, which would be a typical S.F. Bay Area phonenumber. If anyone knows what this might be, or at least what kind of code this might be, let know.
As a possible answer, but one that I’m unable to confirm because I don’t see any such “table,” at the forum linked above from this site, someone points out…
“The title of the post – 4161624788 – is the number of one of the contractors listed in the table at http://www.paik-heavy.com/. As you can see, the status has indeed changed to Blue-1.”
But again I can’t figure out what he’s talking about here. Finally we get to the most recently posted set of numbers…
[May 11 at 10:26am] The numbers 160145162163145160150157156145 again leave me scratching my head. Althugh they do appear to sets of three-digit numbers starting with “1,” as in…
160 145 162 163 145 160 150 157 156 145
and it may be that the “1’s” are meant to be taken out leaving several two-digit numbers. Anyways, looking at the replies…
[12:37 pm] Fandango replies with a long code with numbers like “%50%65%74%65%72%20%48%6F…”
While I’m unable to decipher this, it appears to be two-digit numbers (some including letters though) with percent signs seperating the digits instead of 1’s.
[May 12 at 10:20am] Fandango (binary): “For Crying out loud Peter I’m on the cutting edge throw me a bone here!Found on PH Hidden”
(same comment, but in English): “Sorry it didn’t work out, it was a group try. If you see an oval rash you must deal with it immediately. Or at least check the source. There wasn’t much we could do about the open sphere. She was on a phone spree and we had to get out of there.”
(and then in ASCII):
http://www.paik-heavy.com/namaste.htm
This English/ASCII part is what you’d find if you go to
http://www.paik-heavy.com/east_man.htm
which is a site you’d notice if you “View Source” when you’re on the http://www.paik-heavy.com page.
[10:39am] welovecov (binary): “fandango, have you seen
http://www.paik-heavy.com/persephone.htm
if so, what do you make of it? All I’ve got so far is “obey” hidden in the space in between the two sets of numbers, and it seems to translate to:
€À”
[12:10pm] Fandango (English): “now thats funky”
[9:50pm] empedia (Binary): “Each line at http://P-H.com/persephone.htm contains the same value in a different base. Starting with base 2 and going to base 20 the number is… 4815162342 of course!!”
[11:26pm] Fandango (Binary): To steal a line from Pulp Fiction! “Check out the Brains on Empedia”
Very Good!
[May 13 at 2:15am] hanso hunter (Binary): UM forgive me for sounding stupid but if we are all trying to figure out the problem at hand why are we all talking in code instead of sharing our findings openly??
[May 14 at 12:58am] WeLoveCob (Binary): So Thompson doesn’t know! Thanks fandango, empedia
So we still need to decode the last two messages from Peter Thompson, that is if it’s really him and not a fake site as claimed by some. The numbers by Persophone also need to be translated, with each set of numbers appearing to have a different base. The site reads…
100011111000000011000000000000000
110102120120120222000

11f018be6
bc851g6b
7fa53230
576c90fi
3f4ef5h2
The top line appears to be Binary, but maybe it’s not. Binary numbers breakdown into 8-digit numbers, but this doesn’t. It does seem to break down into 3-digit numbers, however, which may comply to the Ba-Gua, an ancient Chinese binary system which the Dharma Corp symbol is based on. That is to say, it maybe should read…
100 011 111 000 000 011 000 000 000 000 000
Briefly explaining the Ba-Gua, as spelled out at…
http://www.circle-of-light.com/fengshui/bagua.html
each number (or Gua) is made up of three lines stacked on top of each other. A line (or Yao) with two dashes represents a 0 (Yin, or female force), while a single line represents a 1 (Yang, or male force). Looking at the Dharma symbol, each side of the octogon contains a Ba-Gua number. Each number also represents a direction making it a vector, and has its own character, although some numbers share the same character. The eight numbers are…
000 = 0 = southwest = earth = Yin Yau
001 = 1 = east = wood = Zhen Gua
010 = 2 = south = fire = Li Gua
011 = 3 = west = metal = Dui Gua
100 = 4 = northeast = earth = Gen Gua
101 = 5 = north = water = Kan Gua (opposite of Li Gua)
110 = 6 = southeast = wood and wealth = Xun
111 = 7 = northwest = metal and power = Qian
Notice how “7″ or “111″ is the only complete number.
So converting the numbers above to numeric digits assuming they are Ben Gua numbers, we get…
4370030000
Or by instead coverting this to directions we get…
NE, W, NW, SW, SW, W, SW, SW, SW, SW
Of course I may be way off with all of this. Looking at additional sets of numbers above, I can’t figure out how to translate/decode any of them.

Comment 148, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
I have just started to get drawn in to the puzzles involved with this series and am taking vigilent notes. I apologize in advance if this was already mentioned, as I have only read postings so far through May 8 (although I am ready fast to try to catch up.)
Reading the post about Oceanic Airlines, I went to the web site:
http://www.oceanicairlines.com
It gives a screen like the one where Michael was communicating with his son. It says “Error” then on the enxt line “Incorrect Time” The title of the web page is “Possibility” (on the title bar of your browser.)
This is something to keep watching…

go to the electromagnetic research page and find the hidden link in the centre of the cross, this will take you to a compass, once there place the cursor in a SE positon follow the link to thompsons mail decode the binary code. There is other interesting info along the way.

If you’re implying the girl that Persephone reveals as having an affair with Hugh might be Liddy, I don’t think. I only say that because on the falling receipts that turn pink when it you click them, one of them has that girl’s signature. I can’t make out the name, but it’s nothing like “Liddy.”
Comment 163, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
The password under the Hugh Mcintyre is “the mouth piece”
the password under Thomas Mittlewerk is “heir apparent”
And the password under the newsletter is “breaking strain”
also, when you call the 877 number and click number 5, peter thompson there is a very intriguing message. Check it out.
And yes, when you click on the pink slips there is also a hotel called La Dolce Vita…no other clues on the name. Liddy i believe. Who knows.
Comment 164, posted 4 years, 2 months ago -
La Dolca Vita means the sweet life and I came across a bill with the name ‘La Belle Epoque’ which means “the period of comfortable well-established life before World War one. Not sure if there is a connection any ideas?

Behind the pictures that micheal drew there seems to be something that may be an old punch card or something like a punch card. If it is then it could be a possible code..

I’m seeing letters flashing on the picture of Peter Thompson now. They are very quick and I can’t decipher them. Additionally, if one clicks JUST below his picture, and active cursor appears.

I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but when you use the SURVIVOR GUILT password, after it tells you briefly about a case Peter Thompson was involved it shows an image/clip – if you look closely there is an image of someone in a suite superimposed under the main picture.

This is the latest in-game site. It’s possible to detect 12 grayed letters from various job ads listed. In order as detected they read, “nslutmIemAya.” If you take these letters and figure out their anagram, they read “Inmate Asylum.” If you then go to the Board of Directors page at The Hanso Foundation site, type this in as the password. It doesn’t matter what you use as a log-in name, and actually you can even leave that blank.

Clicking on the MFI logo on the Mathmatical Forcasting Initiative takes you to a world map.
Clicking on the various Icons you can find 3 places to input text!
I suggest a visit to:

On http://www.thehansofoundation.org/
Under active projects/ mathematical forcasting initiative…
I clicked on MFI forcasting map near the login at the bottom of the page. On examinging the map, I found a hidden link just northeast of India. When clicked, a balloon appears saying in reverse letters “She was an employee of the foundation”. Additionally, some of the descriptive ballons that appear when you click on the little picutres scattered over the map have blank spaces in place of some of the data/information. It is possible to get an active cursor on these spots, but I couldn’t get anywere else with them.
Comment 179, posted 4 years, 1 month ago -
there are 3 blanks that need to be filled in. US is 42,000 Italy is 10.4 and Sudan 2.55. I found these numbers by searching the web on each area and they worked.

On the genomic research page if you click on the underlined word a countdown shows up. You can enter stuff down where the words are like “days, hours, etc” but it only lets you click on them like up to five times. The countdown expires at 4pm EST, and there’s a hacked message when you see it with someone saying they’ve been up all night but can’t crack the code in time.

No one has mentioned this, so I will.
Last night, I saw a NEW Hanso commercial on ABC. This one referred you to the site:
http://www.retrieversoftruth.com
I haven’t yet explored it, but figured everyone here would want to know. It also leads me to believe that they will continue releasing commercials during the hiatus.
Happy Hunting.

B/O/O/G/10/5/5/16/3/15/13/16/1/19/19. Not sure about B/O/O/G but the rest translates as jeep compass
