My broha made a good point when I was talking to him about this tonight. Several people made some comments on how the mural was confusing and stuff. You have to know for a show like this they hired an artist, told him a few things about the show and things that needed to be in the mural, and after he put those things in just let him do some oddball stuff partly based on what he knew about they told him about the show and partly just whatever the guy felt like drawing. So don’t look too deeply into the things like the houses scattered about the edge. Odds are things like that have nothing to do with the show.

The artist who painted the mural is executive producer (and director of the many Lost episodes) Jack Bender. I’d have to believe that with him doing the painting there is much signifigance to images that are in it.

And, to soularheart, I believe (at least in my post) when we say one security system could be “light/white” and one could be “dark/black” its more or less going with the whole black and white theme that discribes the struggle of good vs. evil as Locke sort of explained to Walt about the back gammon pieces in season one.

And a question, (sorry if its irrelevant to this topic) didn’t Desmond initially told the losties that the reason why he ended up on the island was that while in the boat he saw a man running and waving at him on the beach? But in his flashback he was basically shipwrecked!?
