I guess we were watching different episodes because while this was not a “sit on the edge of your seat” episode, I found it both entertaining and compelling.

We learned that flash forwards do not occur in reverse chronological order.

We learned that Kate and Jack got their happy “not quite an” ending.

We learned how Sun and Jin will be separated.

We learned something about Claire and Aaron’s separation.

We learned that Miles hears whispers - perhaps they are always there, but average people only hear them on the island.

We learned that Karl and Danielle are, indeed, dead.

We learned that most of the freighter guys survived Smokey (I counted five, and I think Miles thought there were six).

We learned that smoke alarm beeps sound mysteriously like the computer’s countdown beeps as it approached 108 minutes.

We learned that Christian can appear in SOME form OFF the island.

We learned that Charlie has appeared in SOME FORM repeatedly to Hurley.

We saw the beginning of Jack’s downward spiral.

We can look the S3 finale flashforward with new eyes - Kate said in THIS episode “for him” with the same tone and timbre that she said “he’s waiting” meaning that perhaps she WAS referencing Sawyer.

So yeah… I learned a lot. Then again, Omar, I think you have had similar reactions to a number of episodes. Were I a catty person, I might say more.

Well that may be, but Christian also showed himself to Claire. It might be Smokey, but my guess is that we will soon learn abaout the whispers. In the transcripts, they wanted to show themselves to the Losties, I think they are slowly doing just that.

Claire sees Christian and is lured away from Sawyers’ beddown area. We’ve never seen that she knows who daddy is before - he stopped visiting when she was tiny. Jack still doesn’t that Claire is a sister… as far as we know. If he and Kate marry, then he’d be raising his nephew as his son.

Who did Kate see that upset Jack? She admitted it was for Sawyer. The phone call where she said ‘we could meet for an hour’, that Jack overheard… I think she said it was Noreen (???) part of a moms’ group. What if it were Cassidy, mom of Sawyers’ daughter, Clementine?

Juliet was sweet. Throwing Kate the ‘I kissed Jack’ bone. Guess Bernard learned about first-aid in the Army as well learning to shoot. Insight from Rose about how people get better on the island, not sicker.

Lots of good anti-Charlotte sentiment this episode. Rose and Jin both. Wonder why Daniel went into fertility station first? Just cuz he likes Charlotte? or to snoop? Still not sure I trust Daniel. Don’t trust Charlotte one iota though!

Miles deserved a smackdown too. Letting Claire wander off. But he did keep his mouth zipped when Lapidus and Keamy went marching thru. Odd to see so many mercenaries still alive after the Smokie beating.

I thought Claire met Christian and learned he is her father after the car accident that Claire was in with her mother. Christian was at the mother’s hospital bed and told Claire he was her father, also she learned that he was covering all her mother’s medical expenses. I remember him too trying to talk to her in a shopping mall and she didn’t want anything to do with him.

I think in this ep Jack thinks of Aaron like a son, and finding out he is his uncle will make him feel weird (I’m thinking Springer-like) and stand-offish.

I like the theory that Kate is doing something related to Clementine. I think that will also make Jack want to distance himself.

Yeah, it looks like Jack stayed away, then changed his mind, then changes it again and separated from Kate and Aaron again. He might have known along based on Kate’s comment at in courthouse parking lot “I know why you …”

One thing that made me laugh, in my own warped, can’t remember a damn thing, mind. Jack sitting outside of the mental hospital in his 4-wheel drive. It was after dark, hours after his Hurley visit, he was right in front of the benches that Hurley communed with Charlie. I was wondering if his was contemplating sitting on those benches… in order to get the ‘visitor’ that Hurley said would be there soon. (?)

We last see James holding an abandoned child in the middle of nowhere. Now he is daddy James… always had parent issues… lost his folks early on… no child left behind James.

Maybe his ultimate ‘redemption’ is resolving that no child should grow up without a parent/parents, so they don’t wind-up like him.

If Christian does represent the island, maybe Aaron was supposed to stay on the island, as the new Jacob. And what was said or done to Claire that she would EVER leave Aaron in the tree trunks… Those trunks look like the ones that people hide from, or are protective of, Smokey.

Sometimes the show has to slow down and just give us some info to tie up loose ends in order to move forward. It’s another chapter we need. It wasn’t an awesome break neck speed episode, but riveting and needed.

I agree to some extent. But I don’t think they actually told us what you suggest we learned before… we just assumed we knew what we learned. Tonight they “TOLD” us what they taught us(confirmation). I think they did it so we could terminate some of our collective theories. NOW, we have more focus and can concentrate and extrapolate on all of the new revelations they are getting to cram down our throats in the last 4 hours of the season - 4 hours that will have to get us thru to Jan 09.
