The latest installment of The Official LOST Podcast with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse was just released.
It features the second half of the interview with Evangeline Lilly, which we heard the first part of in the last podcast. Damon and Carlton also discuss last week’s dramatic episode “The Long Con” and give a preview the upcoming LOST episode - “One of Them”

What did you think of that Evangeline Lilly interview. I thought that whole cigar story made me like her even less. The whole segment was about that dumb cigar story. I like this character less all the time.

Even if it had nothing to do with Lost, I enjoy getting to know who the actors behind the characters really are.
We also have to remember that it was the last part of the interview from the last podcast where Evangeline discussed getting casted as Kate. I feel they should have kept the entire interview in one podcast since the part in this weeks podcast was a bit weak on it’s own but would have rounded off the entire interview pretty well.
I don’t dislike Kate at all, she is one of my favourite characters due to her complex past and her position between Jack and Sawyer on the island. Why do you dislike her Chaim?

I didn’t dislike her during Season 1. I didn’t really care one way or the other. I loved Locke and hurley. I like Jack’s character. Sayid is a very deep character. I even like Michael a lot more now than I did last season. For some reason Kate is the only one that I just really don’t like.
She doesn’t seem to offer anything. they play her too often as the sidekick person, or the person who is just standing around (like she was the first to come over to Claire when charley took the baby …)
Yes her story is compelling, but everyone’s story is compelling. The thing here is who has the more compelling story. For me those people are Locke, Eko, Michael/Walt, The Others, Sayid … I guess after all those things, Kate’s story and her character just fall considerably down the list for me.
