Matthew Fox, Lost’s Jack, recently spoke to Comingsoon.net about the new movies he is starring in and how he feels about Jack living in captivity with The Others.

“I understand the audience missing some of those other dynamics, but the story is dictating right now that we’re looking at the story more from The Others’ perspective than our original survivors’ perspective.
I think that’s a really amazing thing that the show is doing. Because Jack is now part of those Others—being held in captivity there—I’ve gotten to work with these new actors and create completely new relationships and dynamics, and that’s been really exciting for me. The stuff that’s happening between Jack and Juliette and Jack and Ben and the relationships that my character has with The Others, I think there’s an understanding between us as actors that on the day that we work, there is a certain dynamic that we strike, but I’m getting to know them both as people, and they’re amazing. I just love them as actors, and I’m really excited about working with them all the time and how psychological the work is.”

Fox also claimed that he doesn’t worry too much about Jack getting killed off:

“I don’t worry about it too much. I feel really fortunate to be a part of this project, and from an objective point, I do understand that it’s an element of the show that’s important. You can’t create this island in which life is always in the balance and then not have people perish. I think that’s just part of the show, so yeah, that’s always in the back of my mind, but I don’t sweat it too much. If that times comes for Jack Shephard, it’s because that’s what is meant to happen in the story, and I have an enormous amount of faith in Damon Lindeloff and J.J. and Carlton that they’re on top of that.”

  1. Wow… does it mean that he’s gonna die? It’s gonna be a grasping end of the 6-eps mini season. There’s nothing impossible in Lost…

  2. Nah, I wouldn’t take it as Matthew believing Jack will be killed off soon. You never know though.

  3. They’re not going to kill Jack. Lilly said on Jimmy Kimmel that Kate is going to decide at the end of the season if she wants Jack or Sawyer. He has to stay there until then.

However, I’d love to be the lawyer representing these actors because you know exactly when they’re going to be killed…cause you have work out a contract with exact dates.

  4. In this week’s EW, they had a really nice article on the actress who plays Juliet (sp?), with a blammo spoiler in it (not a who but a what). I’d suggest avoiding it, as I’d prefer not to have read what I did. Damn LOST! Can’t read anything about it anymore w/o spoilers!!! (Except here…)

    Happy Helloween

  5. Son of a…I agree with you…
But FYI, my understanding is that all Lost actors have clauses in their contracts with language to the effect that they can be killed off without warning…I can’t remember where I heard that

  6. There are some pretty strong characters to take his place, but they’d be cutting out an important storyline. And I’m still not over Boone.
