Lost Spoiler Moments
2 years ago by AndreasRead more: The Lost Blog
Just wanted to let everyone know that we will not write about the “Lost Moments” clips that ABC are airing with Daybreak. You are not allowed to discuss these clips on the site either.
The clips are from future episodes and are clearly to be considered as spoilers. I know that ABC are desperate to not lose Lost viewers, but showing spoilers like this is disrespectful to the viewers and the storytellers in my opinion.
What reason do we have to watch the episodes if they reveal what will happen in them months before they air?
Like I’ve written many times before, spoilers only take away from the viewing experience. It’s like removing the wrapping on your Christmas presents to have a look at what’s inside a week before Christmas morning. Sure, it’s tempting, but once you’ve had a look you won’t be able to be surprised when you “officially” remove the wrapping. It’s cheating the storyteller’s vision.
We won’t write about episode previews anymore either. The reason is that I don’t want to spoil my own experience. If we publish posts about the previews, I have to monitor the comments since I am responsible for this site.
I hope everyone understands these decisions.

Johnny and “no”, you guys are still free to watch the spoilers if you don’t mind them, we just won’t discuss them on the site.

just a small thing…
the word “loose” means to loosen something, like a knot
the word “lose” means to misplace something or “lose viewers”
sorry to be niggling….

Little miss there, thanks for the pointer Todd!

You should create seperate forum page for spoilers.

I agree thats cool not discussing the spoilers on this site and what not. The reason I come here in the first place is the strict no spoiler rule. but um just out of curiosity if i did want to see the lost moments thingie where can I go about checking that out?

I agree Andreas. It is so much more satisfying to have everything revealed in an episode, not before. Spoilers are unfair to the writers who work so hard to set up the story for a specific effect. Anticipation is great!

The Tailsection has posted the first clip, but beware that their embedded video player produces a loud noise on Macintosh computers.

The thought did cross my mind, but I am still legally responsible for the content on this site and would need to read everything in the spoiler section, and that would ruin the show for me.

Sorry to be niggling back at ya’ Todd, but “loose” actually has an secondary definition in our wonderful American dictionaries and is acceptable to be used as: “too loose something of value”. :)

agreed,
i do enjoy the previews only, i see your point, i get a little angry when the podcasts, ruin some major issues, which will happen next year,
on another note i visited a couple other sites about lost and was angry how they show info on stuff u would like to see first hand when the shows on,.
good site keep up the great work Andreas.

I totally agree that we shouldn’t know anything before the actual episode and like Lesley wrote, anticipation is great with lost

I suggest no one go to Lostpedia either. That site spoiles everything.

Yo dre,
Shouldn’t this site drop the link to stationzero?

Am I “dre” ?
If you are referring to “drop the link” as in removing the link to Stationzero in the sidebar because they write about spoilers - I don’t mind if the sites I’ve exchanged links with write about spoilers as long as it’s not the only thing they write about. Any external site we link to might contain spoilers.
If on the other hand “drop the link” is hip hop lingo referring to posting the link on the site, sure, why not.
The first “Lost Moments” video can be seen at Stationzer0 for those of you who don’t mind spoilers.

As you can see in the sidebar, the next new episode airs in February, so yeah, there is a break between episodes 6 and 7.

Wow, reading everyone’s opinion made me doublethink watching the Lost Moments (which FYI can be found on YouTube), I think everone is right in saying that watching the show is better as it happens without previews, so now I should decide wheter to watch the previews or not…
