Hi gtma leah–I am an old fan who reads this blog and seldom writes because everyone else is so smart; plus it takes me so long to read through everything. But this time I want to exclaim yes! That old knife has haunted me since it first appeared, and then we see WW II era soldiers on the show. Finally a connection. Thanks for pointing it out–I feel that the episode on 1/28 clarified this even more. See you on that strand.

That was a great catch, Jaime! One wrinkle to this that I noticed on rewatching the episode, both of Dr. Chang’s arms/hands were funcional. Maybe it doesn’t mean much, but I found that interesting.

Well see, I think this is one of those things that kind of proves Hammer’s the-Others-are-Whisperers theory. Ethan is DEAD in “current island time” *CIT* (early January 2005). Charlie killed him a “few months ago” when he was after Claire. So Ethan does not exist in CIT. I believe Captain Eyeliner and the Others must not REALLY exist in CIT, or they would have moved WITH Locke. If they are NOT Whisperers, they are at least not of CIT for SOME reason.
