There is not much time left now, the season finale of Lost season 2 airs in about 3 hours.
This is the official description of the Lost episode “Live Together, Die Alone”:
After discovering something odd just offshore, Jack and Sayid come up with a plan to confront “The Others” and hopefully get Walt back. Meanwhile, Eko and Locke come to blows as Locke makes a potentially cataclysmic decision regarding the “button” and the hatch, on the two-hour season finale.
Will they manage to save Walt? Are Jack and Sayid going to stop Michael from taking them to The Others? What’s up with the boat that approached the island at the end of last weeks Lost episode? What made Oceanic flight 815 crash? What happens when they don’t push the button in the hatch?
There are a lot of unanswered questions, but hopefully the two hour Lost season finale will answer many of them.

Me says Charles Widmore is the runner of this whole thing. That would explain how Penny found out about Desmond, and why those Russian Antarctic guys were looking for the island.

I am still a bit hazy, who is Charles Widmore, I was at work for the first 20 minutes. OMG I am like wow and lost all in one. I mean, how are the others the good guys, what did he mean by that? and how is michael going to find help? Where the hell are they? and what is with Des’s girlfriend. I’m thinking Fake Henry is large and in charge. His presence was pretty huge on the docks.
What was that thing that fell from the sky? Was it a box that said ‘quarantine’ on it, or just the old hatch door?

For those of you who are still confused, the artist formerly known as Henry Gale, is the short little white guy the Danielle(forgive my spelling) trapped in the net, then proceeded to shoot w/ her crossbow. He then had an exciting tour of the inside of the hatch armory, free of charge! then Michael went on his little hunting expedition in the hatch, and let him go. Then he shows up from a boat on the docks. Kudos to all who prophicized that he was the leader, that seems evident.

Charles Widmmore is the lady at the end of the shows father. She is Desmond’s old girlfriend and Charles didnt want Desmond around his daughter. He tried to buy Desmond off early in the show that you missed.

That was everything I wanted and more!
I just knew an EMP was responsible for the plane crash! That’s been the best theory ever since Season 1.
They left a lot of loose ends:
What about Sayid/Jin/Son? They know everything is fake now. Sayid is still the smartest Lostie. I can’t remember him ever being wrong.
What about Locke/Eko/Desmond? (Desmond likely isn’t gone, they wouldn’t bring his woman in at end if he didn’t have a large part to play. Locke will be fine, we never learned how he was paralyzed and I do anticipate that’s going to tie together several things pre-crash.)
Can Hurley make it back on his own? Will they just kill him on his way back to the Losties?
Michael and Walt? Will they head towards bearing 325 for “rescue” or will they come back?
Calvin as the former US General was a nice twist. How he died was great scripting, and great acting by Desmond.
The pulse! The Russians “I think we found it.” WOW. Awesome.
Too much to talk about now. Will rewatch tomorrow and enjoy it all over again!

the pulse was released. this was protecting the island from people finding it. the dharma project was just a big ruse to keep the people there, but in reality they are protecting the island.

Apparently, Desmond ex is spending some cash to have the russians monitor for electromagnetic anamolys. This will help her to find desmond.
As for the crash of flight 814:
when desmond didn’t enter the code when he was on his little rampage, the electromagnet basically pulled the metal plane from the sky.
It seems that widmore is content on trying to keep desmond on the island so he can’t marry his daughter. Meanwhile she trys to find desmond

desmond was in the british army but was imprisoned (um why? “disobeying orders”? ) when he got out, charles whidmore a wealthy old guy was out there waiting for him, and gave him money in return for never seeing his daughter again (he also stopped all of desmond’s letters from reaching her). the daugther was the girl at the end and was at the track.

So here are some thoughts:
Walt - My theory - they had harvested some tissue from him (per hanso corp) …something to do with his psychic prowess…
Maybe they want to harvest some tissue from the people captured
Electromagnetic theory seems to be right on - and that was some sort of ultraviolet blast at the end…
Electromagnetism is a component of string theory. And string theory is the concept of multiple alternate universes existing side by side….

Oh, since you don’t remember season 1. Let me rewind you. Did you remember how jack performed surgery on a girl? She had a fiance that left her and then she fell in love with Jack. Through many episodes later we found out that she eventually left Jack and we never knew why?
Well that’s b/c she found good old desmond at the race track. PAM is jack’s ex-fiance and desmond’s long lost love. PAM has lost both Jack and Desmond from ‘mysterious’ disappearances and is now on the hunt for the island. How does she know there is an island?? well duh, he freakin father is running the show.
Now the others? and then being the ‘good guys’ and what exactly they do. im open to a number of theories.

I did see jack in the backround, that was no surprize. I did recall them speaking while thy were running the stairsin a previous episode. You make a great connection between jack and desmond!

Wow and I mean Wow we are going to be LOST all over the world. Desmonds girl Ms. Whitmore paid enough money to find her man hidden on a huge magnetic island by her Evil father who is part of Dharma. So we have all summer to think about where Sayid is and what happened to Locke and Echo…Alive or Dead? I think alive since Charlie was able to survive but I am curious if Desmond made it out…

it seems also in the letter she wrote about one person to save everyone that she new all this would happen. remember we never saw desmond hit the water when the boat crashed. he may have been placed there by whidmores people. what was up with the foot statue with 4 toes??? made the island is full of radiation and caused a race of people with 4 toes. and the others are decendants of this race.

Michael and Walt just sailing off seems a little too easy. After all the trouble of getting Walt and keeping him, and then he was just “more than they bargained for?” Its weird just to let the two of them just sail away.
And Miss Whidmore is not Jack’s woman, two totally different actresses as well, there’s no real connection there.

I think some people are on here are confusing what they saw, seriously though, what was with the big statue. Personally I think that whidmore was the one behind the Dharma Initiative, and that Henry doesnt want anyone on the island. Thats a fact so far. But there are other holes to be filled :D

Mike - I’m not blind and neither is my family. Pam is Pam, Desmond’s babe is Penny and she looks nothing like Pam and has a Brit. accent. Also we saw Pam’s family in the Engagement Party scene and they were fairly American. Sorry!

Maybe the statue was the foot of a cartoon character and the island was going to be a giant theme park, but at the last minute became a top secret, whatver-the-heck-you-call-it.
Let’s face it, the four-toed foot statue is completely wide open for interpretation, it’s way too early to even try to wrap our minds around.

Ok, the tubes were going into a big pile. No one was reading them. No one was watching “them”…in the hatch.

I totally agree with the statue thing, how it is too early to even guess, but personally I think that locke eko and desmond are still alive, but I beleive that one of them will die. Not in the next episode but in some to come, from explosion related injuries. Locke told eko that he was wrong, but where was charlie, how did he escape?
