Firesticks are easily lit and burn for enough time to get other kindling and smaller sticks into a good fire.

Btw, OMG.. I do really love this show.. He's Our You is the tenth episode of Season 5 of Lost and the ninety-sixth produced hour of the series as a whole.

i have been bothered by the thought of sayid being compared to that man.. but got me into thinking...

maybe this episode is showing us that people can get an information without having to give so much pain to the person... look how the old guy did it... he didn't even hit sayid.. he just gave him a drug.. that was it.
in a way we could say that sayid realized how violent his ways were in getting answers. while the old guy (sorry i forgot his name) didn't have to do anything violent.
it could also be a way to reflect on himself...

but then i would have expected something more from that... i think it's a poor comparison of sayid's character...

we see a bit of sayid's childhood which was never brought up before.. we see that he has a brother. so far i haven't seen anyone bringing this up.
i'm curious if we could see more of that brother in the upcoming episodes.. also, will he be coincidentally seen on the island as well...
i do miss the old tricks they put on season 1 and season 2.. putting their dead love ones on the island.. or some people in the past that they were trying to get away from... suddenly appears out of nowhere.. i kind of missed that... don't you guys?
i remember how they tried to introduce each character by doing that.. remember jack and his dead father... who turns up not to be dead... then kate with the horse... then sawyer with the old conman.. so many other things.. oh yeah! like that fake priest who saw his brother's remains on the island..
oops sorry guys didn't mean it to be that long.. anyway, just my thoughts..

The clique of long-time posters removed themselves initially to punish Frank, hankvega, and iowakid who posted some very rude comments. Unfortunately, they posted quite a few snide comments themselves at another Lost blog, mocking the bloggers here for using poor grammar and spelling, forming weak ideas, and generally devolving without their input.

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about by your statement in the first sentence. There was no boycott to punish anyone. If you are going to claim certain things please get your facts straight and stop spreading propaganda.

Good first post Mr. Leah. Did you happen to read the hateful posts she wrote on that blog? A lady should not utter such things.

BTW, when reading blogs it is much easier to understand ideas when grammar and spelling are relatively accurate.
I think it was in either the season 1 or season 2 finale, there was a scene where Hurley and some other Losties were walking through the jungle, and a large bird flew over them. The bird made a screeching noise that sounded like it was saying "Hurley".

I wish I knew where to look for transcripts for confirmation of this. I usually listen very closely to Ben because I believe he is careful NOT to lie and his excellent manipulation of language makes it possible to mislead people and to fulfill their expectations at that moment. I believe the island punishes liars and Ben knows it so he carefully walks the line. I think think think, regarding Locke's reported suicide, he says to Jack "I hadn't heard that." Technically not a lie. And then in the exchange between Ben and Sayid regarding who might have killed Locke, I think think think that Locke says something like "If you ask me, I would say he was murdered. . . I would say Widmore did it." Walking a very fine line, but not technically lying.

But it's late and I'm already a bit sleep deprived, so please feel free to correct me if my memory fails.
* * * * *

I think you have a good point there - he is always careful to manipulate his words so that he is skirting the lie. I had a roommate who was very good at it - called it creative truth-telling. I suspect that in another life, Ben would have made a good politician! LOL.

Anyway, to check transcripts, go to Lostpedia. Hold your mouse over the menu to the left where it says "features" and a pop-up menu with "transcripts" on it will appear. Keep in mind that the transcripts are not from ABC - they are user-created, and as such may have errors or be interpreted to say one thing when the writers intended another.

Good luck!

The scene at the construction site is clearly from 1974-75. They are building the Orchid and Peter Chang still has both arms. I bet Widmore cut his arm too, he wanted to cut Juliette's in 1954.
Not really sure if Chang's arm is evidence. The Swan orientation film and the Pearl orientation film were both made in 1930. He had one arm in the Swan and 2 in the Pearl. I do agree that Widmore may be responsible gor his arm. It's either him or smokey.
