Matthew Fox, best known as Lost’s Dr.Jack Shephard is starring in his first big movie “We Are Marshall” which opens on December 22.

In an interview with comingsoon.net, Matt talks about the movie and reveals why he decided to star in “We are Marshall” during his last Lost hiatus:

ComingSoon.net: Obviously you must pretty busy with “Lost” and you probably don’t have to take other work, so why did you decide to do this movie during your break?

Matthew Fox: Well, it was the script. “Lost” does take up a huge chunk of my year, and I am reticent to fill my hiatus with other work unless it’s something that I’m incredibly passionate about and almost like I have to do it. And that’s the way I felt about the story. I felt very, very moved and it affected me. The way I choose things is always sort of a nebulous, sort of vague process, and ultimately just comes down to sort of the sense inside yourself that it’s really important for you to do this part and be a part of this project.

I know this isn’t directly Lost-related, but since we all love Matt, I thought some of you might be interested the interview.

  1. Hmmm..I think maybe that Jack is going to leave the show. Before on the other post I said that there was no way he could die. But, now that he is taking up another “job” I think he might want off the show. It’s all so very confusing. He can do a show/movie at the same time right? Why not.
The possibility of Jack dying could really go either way.
ANDREAS, I am sorry for the trouble I caused before.
Yall, check out my site. www.freewebs.com/lostontv

  2. Todd, stop spamming your site. Regarding the trouble in the other thread, I see the issue as finished and would appreciate if you both put it behind you.

I wouldn’t say that Jack/Matthew will leave Lost just because Matt stars in movies during his break from Lost production. He could very well keep doing Lost and shoot a movie or two whenever he has a hiatus.

  3. I don’t know, Andreas, to me this sounds like he’s leaving the show. I know that its possible for him to shoot movies on the break, but I think he’ll be leaving. Either by death or because he’s sent home… I don’t have a clue which.

  4. Andreas I wasn’t spamming anything. I just put up the post on my site. That’s all. If you want me to delete it then I will. I’m really sorry for all my trouble. Andreas I am sry. besides that how did you like my site?

  5. i think jack is one of the best actors on the show, but i noticed that in the trailer of we are marshall he seemed exactly like jack in a different context.. what i’m saying is i wonder if his acting can make us forget about jack, but from the trailer he had the same mannerisms etc. not that he is a one-note.. like i said he is one of the best actors on the show.. just something i observed.. i guess we’ll see when the movie comes out
