Okay, okay. A bunch of complaints that you have ARE NOT THE WRITERS' FAULTS. The polar bear is obviously not, and the "hanging" flashback ending + poor intro of Paulo and Nikki was NOT written in the script. Instead, certain parts that did introduce Paulo and Nikki and others that finished the flashback were cut.

I like Charlie. While he's most def not a 'man's man'... he has his demons and he (unlike some of the other characters) tries to deal with them. I would honestly say that he's probably one of the more self-aware losties.

I like Charlie, but in Further Instructions he did feel quite annoying. Maybe we are supposed to dislike him for now, just like everyone hated Jin at first.
charlie has me absolutely tweakedout. i can't stand the character anymore, (but with that said, it says volumes about the actors ability to convey that feeling thru the TV medium) and claire still likes him. Aargh! does anyone find charlie just a little too smug? and does anyone think charlie has an important role anymore?
I feel the same way Dave, I absolutely can't stand him. I think he is a bad guy and if anybody has been turned, it's Charlie. There is just something evil about him.

weeell...for my part, i like the idea of how the introduced the new characters. they live at this beach for how many weeks now? so they obviously play as a team somehow and try to help as good as they can where they can. the polar bear...maybe that's also just locke imaging seeing this creature? because ecko didn't had any flesh wounds. if a beat bites you you'll miss some of it... desmond might have saw sort of a vision while the implosion? i think he took them out of the hatch.
more and more the series start to play with the reality of each lostie, meaning they have their very own personal problem on the island and that might be the reason for some parts not matching...well...

Okay, so I haven't really been able to comment. I ran to my computer after the episode last week to see if everyone had the same feeling's as I.... turns out they did.
As Ive said before my mom watches every episode in as much detail as we all do...she just doesn't catch everything. (shes also 3 hrs ahead of my time zone here in AZ) so I have to call her on Thurs mornings and explain all the weird happenings to her.
After this episode.. there was really nothing to explain.. and I think that's why we all have a problem with it. We all love the show because it makes us think. If we just wanted to be merely visually entertained we could watch Everybody Loves Raymond for an hour. No blogging required on that one.
Back to my mom, all I could tell her after this episode was 'well every once in a while they get it wrong... but thats the thing about the writers.. they always make it up to you'. You all know as well I as I do that as insignificant and unpuzzling as this episode was... 6 weeks from now they'll throw something at us and we'll all be sitting here infront of our computers saying "OHHHH YEA.... der! We should have caught that... dumb us..."
So, while this episode didnt peak the interest of most of us.. it will more than likely help us to understand something that will confuse us all later.
(sorry to go on.. but I haven't been able to get a free minute to comment.)

Who is Locke?

Why is this "pot" place looking really familiar with the "others" place? (exactly the same thought as alex's).
Can Locke in some way be connected with the others?

i agree with you as well. lost is not losing it. the ppl that focus on the little details, like the polar bear, are not true lost fans. they don't eat, sleep, and breath lost like myself and my husband. so just let it go and focus on the info given i can't say this enough.
