Does Jack have new tattoos?
3 years, 4 months ago by AndreasRead more: Episode Thoughts, Jack

Lost Blog reader Kirk noticed that there was something strange about Jack in the last scene of last week’s Lost episode “Par Avion”. When Jack is playing football with Tom, what appears to be new tattoos are visible on his left arm.
As can be seen in the picture above, the tattoos depict what looks like some small black stars and some larger red and green shapes. I tried to get a sharp screenshot, but since Jack is constantly moving, this was the sharpest possible frame. Either way, what’s most interesting right now is not what the tattoos depict, but if we have seen these tattoos on Jack before.
If we haven’t seen them before, there are three possibilities:
- Jack has gotten new tattoos during his time with The Others.
- The tattoos belong to actor Matthew Fox and the film crew forgot to remove them.
- The man seen at the end of “Par Avion” is not Jack.
Thoughts and theories? Have we seen these tattoos before?
EDIT: I should have done a bit more research, The tattoos are not new.
Nothing to see here folks, move on!

We have seen these tatoos before, many times, look closely when he takes his shirt off way back in Pilot Part One (just before Kate sews him up), he has them then.

the majority of the tatts in the show are Matthew Fox’s real tattoos. Some are intentionally show by the directors in worked into the story (ex: “Marked Man”) and the others are slip ups by the crew. I looked into that exact one for awhile and was so impressed by the piece I actually got it on my forearm.

The most important thing i think when having ink done is to go to a excellent tattooist. It’s well worth spending some internet time finding out which places are to be avoided and which parlour has a good reputation – it’s worth spending a few dollars more to have peace of mind that your ink is going to be excellent

I love tattoos and don’t for a second regret getting any of them, I’m currently getting a angel tattoo done down my left arm can’t wait to get it all done! as can only afford shortsessions at anytime. My artist is extremly experienced and also extremly expensive but, he’s worth it! Fantastic site btw
