Last week’s episode lived up to its billing – we finally got Riccardo’s back story and more of the MIB. Plenty of religious overtures were presented, but that probably had as much to do with MIB playing on Richard’s religion than any real tangible meaning to the over-arching storyline. The season is half way over, incredible to think there are only 9 hours left and then that is it for Lost.
Tonight’s episode is rumored to be centric to Sun/Jin.
Synopsis
Sun and Jin desperately continue their search for one another, and Locke confronts his enemy
Tonight represents, perhaps, the most highly anticipated single episode of Lost in a few seasons – the backstory/history of Richard Alpert. Along with Richard, I think it’s safe to say we’ll get a healthy dose of Jacob and the “Man in Black” – maybe we’ll even get a name for MIB. For those interested, the title of this episode loosely translates as “since the beginning of time” or “from a very long time ago”…
Last week’s Sayid-centric episode was pheonomenal, ultimately revealing that despite his belief he is a “good man”, Sayid is anything but… As the weeks go on, those seemingly on the side of “good” are dwindling. Locke/Smokie continue to effectively recruit and pick off our favorite characters one at a time. We also got a ton of great set-up for later in the season – can’t wait for the inevitable crazy-Claire vs. Kate showdown.
Episode Description
“Ben deals with the consequences of an uncovered lie.”
Pretty obvious from tonight’s title who the character of centricity is – Ben Linus. Hopefully the pace of the season continues and more questions are answered.
Being a huge fan of Matthew Fox’ character on Lost, I thought the episode last week regarding Jack was great, for a couple reasons:
1) Jack discussing with Hurley why he decided to come back was a true representation of what makes Jack such an interesting character on the show. He has saved many people and performed numerous medicinal miracles, yet he is the one “broken” thing that he cannot figure out how to fix. Seeing him with his son in alternate-land was pretty cool, specifically their reconciliation post-recital.
2) The Lighthouse – the mirror providing a vision of specific points on the mainland, with each degree providing a representation of a different person, was a pretty cool way to tie in the numbers, but is that it?
This week’s episode is Sayid centric, so it should be another great one.
Official ABC Description
“Sayid is faced with a difficult decision, and Claire sends a warning to the temple inhabitant”
