Philadelphia Daily News have a long article/interview with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje on their site. Adawale, who portrays the quiet Mr.Eko on Lost, talks about Eko as a character. He even confesses that he almost passed on the offer to portray the Nigerian “priest”.
“I was living in London and it hadn’t aired there,” he said. “So when it came across my table, I was like, ‘Plane crash, Nigerians? No way. Thank you.’
It’s a good read, so check out the interview.

I just updated my podcasts in iTunes and started listening to The Transmission. Apparently, Ryan and Jen have decided to stop podcasting.
I just recently started listening to the podcast and really enjoyed it, so it’s sad to see The Transmission go. Nevertheless, good luck to Ryan and Jen, whatever new adventures await them.

I’ve been thinking a bit about spoilers, and the site Spoilerfix in particular. For those of you who don’t know, Spoilerfix provides unconfirmed information of upcoming Lost episodes. The information can be anything from what the episode will be about to new actors coming on the show.
The thing is, do we really want to know what is about to happen before we see it?
Sure, the line between fan speculation based on what is seen on the show and pretty solid information on upcoming shows might be a bit blurred. But to use the terms someone else did in some article this week, if Lost and the speculations and theories is like a video game, wouldn’t sites like Spoilerfix be cheating?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the people behind Spoilerfix are doing a great job. But what’s the fun about making up and discussing theories related to Lost and then already know what the next episode will be about before it even airs?

The Lost Blog was officially launched about a week ago. I just wanted to take some time to thank everyone.
Big thanks to Lostcasts and Lost-Media for linking my site and for simply being really friendly and helpful people.
Thanks to every single visitor. It feels great to know that over 350 persons check this site each day, to get the latest news and theories on Lost. I just hope I can live up to the expectations. That’s why I would like to know what you like about The Lost Blog, what could be improved and what you would like to see more (or less) of.
I plan to write more of my own theories and speculations and I have already planned to expand the characters page into individual pages for each character with more detailed information, so that’s something to look forward to.
What else would you like to see?

Congratulations to the entire Lost cast for winning the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards yesterday!
Terry O’Quinn, who plays the mysterious John Locke spoke for the cast when recieving the award:
A friend of mine always says, if you don’t have something nice to say about someone, let’s hear it. [laughter] So, about our cast, I’d like to say that this is the saddest collection of climbing, grasping, paranoid, backstabbing, scene-grabbing, losers and schmoozers, [laughter] that you ever saw on your stage in your life. [applause] But we love each other very much. And we want to thank our fellow members of the Guild for recognizing us as an ensemble. And we would like to take this singular opportunity to express our gratitude, to J.J. Abrams, and Damon Lindelof, for creating what is clear an ensemble piece.
Once again, congrats to the Lost cast and crew. If you want to check out the rest of the winners, head on over to the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The Philadelphia Inquirer has a fun article investigating Lost fans and our strange conspiracy theories. Jeremy Domby from 4815162342.com talks a bit about the popular Lost theories and Paul Stuewe, an English professor at Vermont’s Green Mountain College, compares Lost to Robinson Crusoe and The Lord of the Flies. We also get to hear from podcaster Cliff Ravenscraft who host’s Generally Speaking, and the director of film studies at University of Dayton, Jim Farrelly.
“We’re just beginning to get to know the Others, says Jim Farrelly. This week’s dream sequence didn’t help much, but the writers appear to be planting ironic religious symbolism everywhere to foreshadow some kind of new creation or transformation that will soon occur. The Us vs. Them conflict for control of the island is clearly on the horizon, but the nature and timing of that clash remains shrouded in mystery.”

What did I tell you - Monaghan week!
I managed to miss this one, but TVGuide has a pretty nice interview with Dominic Monaghan on their site.
Dominic talks about the latest episode, Fire + Water, as well as the previous episode and Charlie’s encounter with the black smoke. He also discusses Charlie as a character and what it’s like working on such a prominent show as Lost.
Dominic on Charlie:
He is a screwup, and also in my mind, he’s a wild card, the joker in the pack. We don’t necessarily know where he’s headed. He’s not, for me, as black and white as characters like Jack or Hurley, who seem like intrinsically good characters, or people like Ethan or Locke, who seem a little more sinister.
Lord of the Rings even comes up once or twice, so who wouldn’t want to read this article?

Michelle Rodriguez who portrays Ana-Lucia on Lost, is on one of four celebrity covers of People en Español magazine’s “New Hollywood” debut issue.
Besides making the cover look great, Rodriguez talks about Hawaii, Lost and her respect for other people. Michelle says she treats people with respect unless provoked.
“My family taught me about ethics and the importance of respecting everybody, but, if someone is disrespectful to me, then we have a problem.”
“New Hollywood” will be in newsstands February 6th.
On a side note, I’m starting to like Ana-Lucia as a character. Not that I ever hated her like it seems everyone else did in the beginning, but the writers are making her more and more into a likable character. My guess is that some people won’t like Jack’s newfound friend as much as he does though, so wear a helmet and watch out for the drama.

In the last official Lost podcast, Damon and Carlton told us to look for a building in the London skyline in the episode Fire + Water. Most fans agree that the building in question is The Battersea Power Station and that it is a reference to the Pink Floyd album Animals.
Animals in turn, was in part, inspired by George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm. This is where things are getting interesting.
Animal Farm is a modern fable about a group of animals which take control of the farm they live on and run it themselves, only to see their perfect society turn into a brutal tyranny. The utopia fails because of a power struggle between the pigs, which in turn leads to the expulsion of one of the pigs from the farm.
Sounds a bit familiar doesn’t it?
Could this be a reference to the struggle between Locke and Charlie for Claire’s affection? Maybe Animal Farm can be applied to Lost in a larger sense and the great power struggle waits around the corner?
