I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents.

i tried it a couple of times and it kept doing it, there seems to be more but i cannot make what it says or copy and paste it like this one…tell me what you think this means…very wierd how it would show up on the supposed flight company xwebsite…any thoughts?

IF Eko is being manipulated by the Dharma’s with his brothers death, does that explain what the psychics daughter said to him in the airport?

And why is it that she never really seems to look at anyone? She kind of looks spaced out.

Can someone please explain to me Eko’s insistence that pushing the button is even MORE important now? Is he just saying it’s meaningful to him because of how his brother ended up there and so, of course, there has to be some meaning to that? Is he just going to turn out to be wrong? Is it just an effort to keep US believing in the button, only for them to *smash* our faith in a future episode?

I understood why it was important to HIM, but not why he’d think pushing the button saved lives or something, if he even thinks that. I’m so confused…

Hey Nate. There is a theory that pushing the button does something to set off a chain reaction in the various stations. Someone quoted Michael recently as saying angrily to Jack (?) “Do you know what happens every time you press that button? Huh?” implying that Michael knows, and it’s bad. LOL. The Pearl station orientation video makes no mention of the other hatches, however. Then what are those other monitors for? And why didn’t they turn them ALL on? Sheesh! I wonder how many orientation videos/films we’ll get to see…and whether any of them will be on DVD…

Yeah this was a *REALLY* loaded action on his part, and you bring up a few interesting things that make me ask even more questions (sorry!) like: Is the “?” really where the central command for the complex is stationed? Locke and Eko didn’t seem to go far to get to Pearl Station, and I think most of us are in agreement now Pearl is not “?”. But maybe “?” is where his map went, and if so, then what kinda freaky reaction shot are we missing on the face of whomever receives that piece of paper? Hopefully it’s something we’ll get to see this or next week. Could be the thing that sets off a showdown w/the others.

But I think Locke was in such a foul mood about himself he WASN’T really thinking about the consequences. Didn’t seem to care about too much when he was venting to Eko. Pearl station must be kept up well in order for all the monitors to work, as well as the videotape deck. I think the damage to the ceiling, dust and debris all around, is from the plane hitting right above the hatch when it fell.

I’d like to know about that Michael/Walt convo too. (Didn’t notice that Eko took the logs. Interesting…) What if Walt was in Pearl station when he and Michael chatted? There’s a computer in the corner. Looks like an Apple II…same as what they have in the Swan. I at first assumed it was someone pretending to BE Walt, or just Michael’s imagination, but the producers have expressed their desire for maximum dramatic impact, and although pretending to be Walt to lure Michael is surely a compelling idea, Walt actually sitting at the computer doing the typing (coerced or not) would be much more exciting to see.

I agree, Nate, this is the best forum for discussion. It’s lighter, cleaner, simpler…and a great bunch of people coming together here. Enjoy!

The timing is an interesting point I have been trying to reconcile as well. Even after watching several times. I do not get it. It would be interesting to know the tide situation. Could the island be moving???

Or could it be located in outer space and thus have a different night/day pattern because of how fast it rotates and how close it is to the sun? I speculated a bit about this in the post Desmond and The Bernal Sphere. Right now, it really feels like I was on to something!

Even if the island being located in space feels a bit extreme, the connections between Bernal’s books about a better world and The Hanso Foundation’s various projects for a better world are a bit scary.
